If balls go over the top of foul poles or uprights, why not just raise them?

It takes the guesswork out of play completely. You don’t have to estimate if a ball is through or fair.

In the softball game today, we hit apparently a foul ball over the foul pole that would have given us a walkoff win. I guess they got the call correct, but it was impossible to tell on TV.

I believe last year for LSU softball there also was a controversial foul ball that many thought should have been ruled a home run.

Easier to just put a camera on each one looking up.

Looks cheap and little league when schools have short uprights or foul poles. Jordan Hare used to be like that. Probably screwed LSU in 2004.

Shoot a green laser out the top with about a 3 inch beam, and a broad red beam on the foul side. And if on replay the ball doesn’t reflect any light it’s fair?
