the point was to discuss which combo might have been better.

and it's not really hyperbole with this team. they are clearly one of the best ever with the potential to be called the best ever. they've dominated about as much as any team has.

Didn't Hollander graduate in 2008, and Nola's first year was 2009. Someone correct me if I'm wrong please.

Not even a real thing. Try again.

In 2008, Hollander and LeMahieu (without Nola, lolz) committed 38 total errors.

This year, the combination of Ibarra, Bregman, and Jones have committed a total of 23.

Y'all can do the analysis, but for my opinion, this combination is elite. Don't care if they are the best ever.

Ibarra will not go down as the best LSU 3B of all time. (Blair Barbier)

Barbier couldn't hold Ibarra's jock strap!

They are carrying this team offensively right now too.

I guess we remember nola differently. I wouldn't put him ahead of sheets or Larson. after that you still have theriot, Fontenot, Williams, johnson. pretty stout company. spectacular to me would mean being equal to or better than these guys.

From a pure defensive standpoint. Nola is a step or two better than Bregman.
Now, maybe by the time he leaves here he may equal or surpass Nola, but not yet.

It's awesome to have Bregman come in and play a solid D and anchor this lineup offensively.
I just hope that Nola doesn't get forgoten in Bregamn's wake.

Agree. Nola had better range than Bregman (who is really good as well). Nola's length helped him cover a lot of ground. Terrific SS defensively.

You know everybody goes nuts over Nola. He was very good but I seem to remember one year he had 13 errors in a season and another he had double digit errors again. Nola was very good but Bregman is also solid defensively even if he is a knotch below. You also consider Bregman is light years above Nola as a hitter.

I wonder if bregman as a fr is being compared to nola as an upperclassman. nola was solid as a freshman but, bregman is awesome.

bregman is being talked about as the best fr ever at lsu, at any position. I don't recall anyone ever saying anything close to that in regards to nola. nola isn't even in the top 3 best shortstops in lsu history.

if you take that with jones and throw in Ibarra, this crew has the potential to be lsu's best if combo, in my opinion. that's pretty impressive.
