We have a one receiver route with JJ dropping back in the endzone?
Easily the worst call of the night.

This is the shite that is just dumb by JJ haters. JJ didnt instantly come in and destroy our offense, in fact he had a decent game, we went away from controlling the clock because we had other things to work on.
I'm not a JJ hater, you just want to believe that so you can make general statements and create a your side vs. my side argument. I'm in the middle of another thread right now discussing how Lee would have never won us the Bama game and we had to use JJ. But people on this board see any discussion as representative of someone just pimping their guy. My guy is the guy taking snaps, whichever quarterback that is.

Yeah I don't hate JJ at all, but it is clear that our offense is more fluid and in control when JL is our QB. We need JJ for his legs sometimes i.e. Bama game, but we need not forget our dominance and fluidity of offense the first 8 games of the year with JL.

100%. I have found that Les is a bit of a poet with the play calling. Jefferson's jump pass against FL, throwing the fade to the end zone 2 times against FL last year (a classic Spurrier move). There are many examples, the dude has a sense of humor.

I agree with the jump pass, because the game was completely out of reach. Disagree with the fade passes. That was our best matchup, given the time, in that game and was our best call.
He has a sense of humor, yes, but I don't think the playcalling last night was showing it.

The old "Break one down to lift up another" bit. I bet the first 4 wees of the season were absolute misery for you.
Wait. What? Why are you being ridiculous?
Why would the first four games be miserable to me? I have enjoyed the entire season.
My comment has nothing to do with a JJ v JL thing. JJ was just a better qb in that game and I fully believe that he was the qb we needed to win that game after seeing the performance lee was having.

So explain to me our playcalling with JJ during the course of this entire year before last night, how effective it was, and what last night was.
the suspension put him out of practice for what, 5 weeks? by then Lee had things solidified and all you really needed Jordan to do (and have the practice reps for) was be the change of pace runner. that's what he did initially.
but you could see the coaches gradually let him pass more and more, and with greater variety (the bomb vs. AU, the passes vs. Bama).
at the end of the day, Les probably wanted to at least give him a game to get off a good amount of passes in case he's needed to play the majority of a game again - either due to Lee's ineffectiveness, injury, or a "feel". at most, Les may be about to give him the starter's role back permanently. which I'm not even gonna attempt to explain, or condone or whatever right now.

So basically you prefer style over substance?
Because our offense was the most productive it's been all year last night.

Go back and watch the replay, JJ checked to that throw against AU. Great call by him though, but it wasn't the coaches as you describe.
Just in general, I don't understand why we didn't run the ball outside more with JJ in the game last night. It makes no sense considering how effective we've been with that this year with JJ.

I think it was more of that they already know we can do that. No need to "work on it" vs. an inferior opponent.
What we didn't know was how Jefferson would handle being an actual passer as a QB.

And yet, we looked worse last night offensively. I'm not looking for flashy numbers. I could care less if we run the ball 50 times a game and never throw more than 20. But I don't understand what seemed to be a 180 degree change regarding our offensive playcalling with JJ last night.

Practice. Tht is what last night basically was.

Exactly. So you prefer the "style" not the actual production.
I'll happily taken damn near 500 yards and 42 points every week, even if it's ugly as sin.

Despite his limited role this year, not sure this would be necessary considering how long he's been playing for us.

right. you have to be in the I-form to check to that. he hadn't been playing much in the I when he first came back, it was mostly shotgun zone read/ shotgun speed stuff. he also tried to check to that play against Bama on one play, but we ended up burning a timeout.
