This is the kicker.

If his lawyer does his due diligence, the two parties will act like there is no other option and come to a "secret" agreement and he will get an amount larger than what LSU wants to pay and less than what he wants.

All the media wrangling is far the public to get worked up about.

Kelly just used LSU as a retirement vehicle. I doubt he ever coaches again.

If that's how it works then show me an example of a coach that accepted less than they were owed. Not taking less because there is some incident or circumstance that creates leverage but of a coach that was fired for losing and took less money than was owed.
