Cause a 9 win season, bereft, of hope would not be good enough. I would agree ,that Les should be gone depending on how the team performs, not so much on w/l's.

The situations between the Nebraska pre-Solich firing and LSU right now are very similar. They are optimistic because they were terrible a few years ago and Bo Pelini led them to the Big 12 title game in his 1st season.

LSU on the other hand has been embarrassed nationally several times the last couple of seasons

Second season. Go to Huskerpedia.com and it will give a glimpse of the optimism and insanity that surround the NU. program right now. As an LSU rooter I would like to see the same support for the Tigers. Lsu has the base to recruit from and almost as many advantages to win big as any other school. Saban came to BR. cause he knew this to be true. Think he takes the job at Missouri or any of the other retarded younger brothers of this world, ie. Ole Miss, Miss. St., Kansas St., Okie St., Iowa St. , I doubt it.

With a message board like TD.com you can say anything. There's no face value, there's simply words on a screen. You can hide behind tigahfan2719 and remain completely anonymous. Also there is the fact that there's a new generation of fans that started following the Tigers once they got really good this past decade.

I think a lot of it has to do with snobbery among all the people who obsessively cover pro athletes and recruiting these days. They get all butthurt and offended when "homer" fans don't respect or know enough about opponents that they've read about, and then they start to morph into these generic/ironic/detached "fan of the game" types who hate casually ignorant/average Joe/blue collar fans who just like to root for the home team.

I suppose there is something to be said for expanding your horizons and knowledge base and outlook and all that, but at some point it just goes too far and starts to warp itself away from reality rather than toward it. When fans start to equate raw individual athletic talent with everything good about a sport, and anyone who doesn't appreciate individual athletes as everything bad about a sport's fanbase, then you know that there is a serious disconnect between the old perspective of the game and the new perspective of the game.

True, the game is becoming more of a science than an art, and in some sense that represents refinement and progress over past ignorance. But by the same token, this process tends to kill the soul of the game, and often tends to obscure the real reason why it even exists in the first place.

didn't Nebraska fire their coach after winning 10 games. The fan bases are actually pretty similar

I remember not that long ago alot of people wanted Miles fired when he was having back to back 10 win seasons here. I would say we are more delusional.

Oh really? People wanted Miles fired after 2006? Pull up some posts for me. And don't give me posts pertaining to people being disappointed after some of the games. I want actual posts calling for Les Miles' TERMINATION at the end of the 2006 season.

I don't know if I can pull up post from back then. I was more of a lurker then. But I do remember fans wanting him gone, despite the 10 wins. Because at the time he would never get us to a bcs championship. Not with 10 wins. Ironically a year later we did just that.

I'm sure most of that was due to Saban's return to the SEC. I really think most of the complaints we have about Les Miles are a result of Alabama's current head coach. The rest were probably people who never wanted Miles in the first place.

Same with Oklahoma fans. Finished with 5 losses last year and they are talking about winning it all this year.

I'm tired of this over analysis. Huskers finished strong last year which leads to preseason excitement. End of story.

My kind of answer!

I don't know what's worse, experiencing LSU underachieve or the constant whining of the LSU cheerleaders.

"Pot" in the situation is the negative energy brought to the program by the negatigers, "kettle" is the self pity that the positiger cheerleaders live in such as ESPN hates us, our fans suck and why can't we be like other fans, Saban betrayed us, blah blah blah.

You would be excited to have BP as your coach? typical grass is greener answer. The truth is he left here and outside of the Ohio State game the lsu defense was porous the last half of the year. He has done jack shite at nebraska but bring them to mediocrity...did you happen to notice the Big12 North last year? Horrendous. That is why they were in the champ game. Please...BP....what the hell has he done as a head coach in college football. typical idiotic lsu fans.

Yes, these ranters are made up of johnny come lately fans who have no real clue as towhat it takes to win in college football, and absolutely no realism whatsoever....There is a reason why so few teams have had a decade like lsu. It is because NO team wins every year...period. LSU won 9 games last year with that pathetic offense.....I'd say that's a hell of a job coaching...9 games in the SEC with a 112th ranked offense....geez. Most of us that have been around watching LSU for more than one decade....understand that we will have down years....times when things dont go perfectly...but we are also optimistic that things will go well...we were literally a couple breaks last year....things like that come back around and we are set up very nicely to have a strong year this year and a dominant NC year next year....it all boils down to this...you have alot of people on here that just say things to getr a reaction....that don't really care and arenot really that great of fans...and then you also have a certain amount of people that just aren't bright enough to see the big picture and understand realistic approaches and expectations....frick you if you say i'm settling on a 9 win season. I'm just smart enough to know that in the SEC you don't win 10 games every single year...and if 8 and 9 losses are your worst years....that's pretty damn good. The neegative people on here, not the ones just playing a game...but the real negative ones...they are that kind of person in life...the kind you want to stay away from. I am confident we will win 10 games this year andplay in the SEC Championship.....I am confident we will be even better next year....all you saban lovers watch what bama and the D does this year. Maybe he isn't god afterall.

You haven't seen delusional until you've been around gamecock fans. Every year they win 3 games in the SEC but seem to think they are gonna win the division each season.

We are at the place Nebraska was after Tom Osbourne. We've had much better results after Saban then what Nebraska has had after Osbourne until the past 2 years. I would hate to have lived through what Nebraska has since Osbourne retired from coaching.

just a bunch of idiots....screaming for muschamp, pellini, fisher, etc....while NONE of them have done jack shite as a head coach in college football. Just lets you know the intelligence level of these ranters.
