As he and everyone else should be, smoking is the leading cause of preventable death. Tobacco use kills more than 5 million people a year

I smoked 35 years trying to quit several times. It IS tough. On Friday, I received a report post-stress-test that my heart is strong and my legs are clear. This after a triple bypass FOURTEEN years ago. I am one of the lucky ones! I don't know that quitting earlier would have changed things but TRY it if you DO smoke. After the diagnosis of a bypass I haven't picked one up since and really don't miss it even if I have a beer.
I don't harp on smokers except for my son. How he smokes after seeing my surgery I don't know. Don't go as far as I did. QUIT NOW!
