yep, the slide has begun.

See, this is what i thought would happen to LSU when Saban came back to the SEC. A slow slide to meaningless bowl games. I had come to terms with having a new coach and was cool about it because the team was doing well enough to be in "that talk". But since the little troll came back to our division, i said to myself that BAMA bumps us down a notch eventually and we get 9 and 10 win seasons while another team plays for the conference title. Well, it's started and with the 3rd title in four years on the horizon for them it's looking like someone told me the end of a book...don't want to read it now. The 9-10 win seasons are there and you don't fire a coach for that...meanwhile, another coach is notching a win or two more and playing for it all. I personally don't aspire to applaud 4th place or 3rd place unless it's my little kid at field day.

In all honesty Jan 9th, while I was upset, it didn't phase me too much. I knew the day Miles let JJ back on the team we weren't going to win the NC. I spoke openly about it at the time.

Was that JJ's fault? No. It was the coach's fault who put him in the position to fail.

It's a game. I was mad too. When I woke up the next day I was hungover but the sun was up and dv was still standing. Really means nothing to fans other than bragging rights. If you can't get over a game you live a miserable life.

Terrible parenting. Your kid should learn that being first and being the best is what matters. Moral victories are for quitters.

only the Miles supporters do. It's the strangest thing.

based on comments from the fanbase at large, I can only conclude they are nothing but sock puppets for the athletic department trotting out talking points to attempt to hide the fact the emperor has no clothes.

We beat saban 3 times and won the sec. How are we sliding? They should have never been in that game. LSU would never be given the same opportunity.we were the best team in the west last year and the second best this year. I see no reason to believe why we can't win the west again.you negative people said the same thing in 08. That lsu would slide back to mediocrity, but that still hasn't happened. Miles would never compete for an sec title yet they won one. Give me the lotto numbers since y'all can read the future and are all knowing.

Seriously, why does this make someone a pussy? This is a "go to" Miles supporter move.
You could (with just as much validity, which is not much) be called a pussy for being content with this perfomance.

Where did I say this again?

Watching putrid performance used to really piss me off. Now, apathy is more prevalent....not joy.

Just b/c you feel one way doesn't make it correct.
Watch I can turn this around.

-If you get great enjoyment from watching your favorite team underperform time & again and waste opportunity after opportunity to win championships (albeit all the while having good results), then I feel sorry for you with your ability to accept less than the best from yourself & those around you in your life

Let me get this straight, you feel sorry for me because I enjoy the football season and I like watching LSU play??? Sorry, your version fails.

That's not to say I wasn't disappointed with LSU this season, but it doesn't discourage me from leaving the past in the past. Harping on the national championship loss does not help anything.

So every win is a moral victory. I don't see anyone claiming moral victories. Explain to me what a moral victory is.

Is a moral victory winning the sec? Is it winning a bcs championship? 2 teams play for it all.only one coach has put lsu in place To do that twice.

I guess every fan base Is ok with moral victories, except bama. They think they've never lost a game and won every title since wwii.

currently we aren't winning the SEC West...another team is doing that repeatedly.

I tend to measure myself against the best, not the worst.

That is your problem. If you don't understand why you fricked up in the past you will keep making those mistakes in the future and you being content with them.
