I can admit it. I was a bit too harsh on Daniels at first. Took the 10 TD 10 INT too harsh and didn’t know the context. The ASU program was a disaster and he had no one to really throw to. I’ve been watching his games with Ayuk and I must say, you give him a good WR and Daniels can get the job done. Now he’ll have an entire WR corps of players as good, if not better then Ayuk. Plus one thing I never saw until today was how pretty Daniels slant pass is. If he can get that perfected with our WRs….. look out.
I’m gunna pull for and cheer for whoever the QB is. No matter what. As long as LSU is on the players chest. But man! I’m getting excited to see this Cat play for the TIGAHS

People love to toss out the 10/10 TD/Int (which is important for a QB), but fail to mention he also ran for 700+yds & 6TDs.

someone is bound to show up & say ASU program wasn't "that bad" last year bc of an 8-win season. Check out this article from January about Daniels previous OC at ASU. DUMPSTER FIRE

I watched some games yesterday and he stays in the pocket and makes his reads before taking off. He did air mail a lot of balls that led to interceptions.

It's been mentioned plenty however, my concern is why he ran for 700+. Was it a run call or, a bad decision and not looking for a 2nd or 3rd read. 16 TD's is not good.

Max fricking Johnson had 27 TD's on a depleted team with a sorry staff

We haven't seen him take one snap in a game in the P&G yet. We have no idea other than what BK thinks to say if he's going to be good or not. Judging him based on his past performances is fine.

I heard their receivers were pretty awful. Lots of drops as well. I admit I don't know if that is true, but I did watch him as a Freshman and remember being so impressed by him.

Daniels had 138 rushing atts last year. Safe to say majority of those were designed runs.

If you want to compare stats with Max, he had 78 atts for -41 yds & 1 TD.

We hired a head coach that went 5-26 in the SEC and thought it was great in 2016.

The reason for the limited TD is because he sucks at the mid range throws.

Short passes he is good ,and long throws he is good.
The intermediate throws 10 to 20 yards he sucks.

That is why when you watch the film on him he threw very little mid range throws.

Hence the high 65% competition but the lack of TD.

When he had weapons like both Darby and Aiyuk, he was making big plays. I didn't watch his 2021 highlights, but watched 2019 & 2020. You could really tell the progress he made in 2020 with reading the defenses and scrambling more big gainers. I think he'll do fine. He's smart enough to know when to slide, and he has the weapons to make plays downfield. It's the intermediate and crossing routes that he just needs to crisp up on, and can't hold onto the ball too long, needs to anticipate throws in the SEC.

Ima say this, we’ve won plenty with much less. See Jordan Jefferson, and Lee. Anthony Jennings.

I couldn't care less about evaluating his past stats from ASU. If BK thinks he is the best qb we have after 25-30 practices with him, then that's all I care about.

Exactly, and that still doesn't mean it will be good. It would only mean that's the best we have.

All I know is whoever starts is starting because CBK knows he can win with them. If we trust CBK as much as we say we do, let him make the call and ride with it.

Same things were being said about Coach O after 2019.

I'll take "what BK thinks" compared to the rest of us dipshits:-)

Max Johnson played for a dead man walking in O in a program literally burning to the ground around him. He was playing with mostly second stringers and put up 27 tds and 6 ints in the SEC. The excuse ASU was in a bad place is laughable at best.
