i don't know if LSU has had a heady QB (outside of JR) since the 90s really

same thing as "game managers"

for the record, i think JJ would THRIVE under a Mike Shanahan style of West Coast

he loves the rollout with 2-3 options in front of QB

One of the more blatantly arrogant and biased posts I have ever seen.

There are other alternatives.

Do we know whether or not Crowton and Miles have allowed JJ to do this at all, and if so, has he done it incorrectly? JR did this exceptionally well according to Jimbo Fisher...but he's called a shite for brains by the OP.

This comes with time... JJ looks like a young QB getting better at that. He's clearly a work in progress.

I'd agree...but I'd also say that there is also a time to NOT throw it away. Last year we saw the flip side of constantly throwing the ball away when a young QB feels pressure. In most cases, though I'd prefer to have neither, I'll take a sack instead of a turnover. But yes...this facet of his game needs work. I'll list it under his internal clock.

IF he gets the play in on time and can get the ball off. PLENTY of time this year, early on, we watched as JJ helplessly looked to the sidelines as three guys waved frantically getting theplay in. Plenty of times he'd get to the line with 7 or so seconds and then be expected to survey the D. That's bullshite ond on the coaches. when they stopped doing that check with me crap against AU, that issue all but ended entirely. I'd only put this on the QB IF and ONLY if he gets the play in plenty of time and simply has his head up his arse and doesn't snap the ball. I really don't recall that happening this year...

The look over is a scheme design, which drives me crazy! My son's 12 yr old team runs the same offense as the local HS and they do they same thing. Our players line up, the coaches check the defensive alignment and call the play from the sideline (each player wears a position specific wrist band with all plays numbered). Can't tell you how many times we had a drive going and slowed down for the sideline check and allowed the defense to make adjustments and the drive stalled, leaves very little chance to develop and flow or rhythm...

I always thought JR was a mixed bag.

JJ? He's 19 years old. After last year with Pick 6 running the offense, I am fine with JJ's "cerebralness." I think he will be a top player for us if given the chance.

folks, we had virtually stopped looking over to the sideline by season's end and had started phasing it out after the bye. or am I the only one who noticed that?

Does anyone actively want an un-cerebral QB? And would any QB have prospered this year, behind the worst OL in human history and under the worst coaching we've seen since...I dunno, Hallman?
