I have two daughters, and asked them what they would do/think if a very good friend was getting married Sat. night. One said she'd go to the wedding, and the other said that even SHE wouldn't go and would watch the game... BUT, when I asked what they would expect their boyfriend to do, they both promptly said that there was no way they would expect HIM to miss that game!!

You are to be commended, LSUmomma. Sounds like you raised two very reasonable young ladies.

It's taken me a few years, but my wife (a UNC grad) now understands that LSU football is a priority for me in the fall - especially SEC games. She knows to ask what weekends are "must see" games and what times the games are before making plans for us, and I don't complain when I have to go to some stupid social event I'd rather not attend if it means that I can have my football Saturdays free to watch my beloved Tigers.

I do have to sacrifice the occasional OOC game, like the Troy game this year, though it's not our fault since the game was moved to what was originally an open date. Still, if I have to miss a Middle Tennessee game in order to keep my wife happy, then I am able to assure myself of pain-free football watching for the important games like Auburn, Florida, Bama and the like, many of which she actually enjoys watching along with me.

Guys, he's on the east coast. 5pm wedding. 8pm kickoff. He could spend 4 hours at this wedding and still catch quarters 2-4.

Guy without testicles. Get on yelp or citysearch or google maps, or whatever the hell you have to do to find a sports bar near the wedding. Put in 3 hours, then go to the bar and tell your girl to meet you there when she's done. You should be able to get all the way through the toast, cake-cutting, first dance, get in a dance with your girl and still make it to the bar in time to see RJF put Tebow on a stretcher.

Seeing the game is a non-issue.

Being with a girl that you describe as having your balls in a vice-grip, another issue all-together.

My wife's good friend is getting married during the LSU-Bama game. I have already, over my wife's objections, sent my regrets. Me and my son will be watching the game.

We did go to a wedding before the LSU-Auburn game. Watch the wedding, ate some food and made it home in time for kickoff.

A good friend of mine met a girl several years ago on match. com. After going out three or four times things between them seemed to be getting somewhat serious.

He really started to become enamoured with her. When they really started talking to each other about their hobbies and dreams my friend told her that Saturdays during college football were his and he would not do anything socially on Saturdays during the fall season. She said she didn't quite understand that attitude and said she could have a potential problem with that.

He told her 'bye' and never looked back. He is now married and his present wife actually has a brain and totally understands his position about Saturdays in the fall.

Why this is an issue at all with guys with girlfriends, fiances'and wives is beyond me.

Any guy that would cave in to this crap should have their manhood revoked.

Roscoe, you're also clueless. You start a thread describing the situation and you are upset that people are saying you have no balls or whipped?

Chew your fingernail and swallow the clippings, this will give you appendicitis, you should be out of recovery in time for kickoff.

Get either a Slingbox + Smartphone, PC tv tvuner card + Orb + Smartphone (cheaper), or buy a XM radio and bring with you. Simple.

I will also add that if I remember correctly, he is scared of her going alone to said wedding. My guess is he thinks she'll "hook up" if he misses b/c of game. If this is the case here is no trust in the relationship and he should end it now anyway.
