I didn't read everyone else's posts, but I will say that my sister-in-law is getting married at 2:30 on Saturday and my daughter is the flower girl, and before the game was made a night game, I already made plans to skip out early, but then again, it's your girlfriend-good luck

Yea, well my girl is from Connecticut and doesn't care that much about LSU football. Before you crucify her, she is trying and even bought me an LSU shirt and my dog an LSU coller. She could care less about football and I have known about this wedding for a few months. I was never able to put the two together until about a week ago. Yea, if I bailed on this, not only would I have to find a new place to sleep for the night, but I don't know how much longer we will be together. Sorry if I don't live up to your expectations but living in Virginia, they don't care about LSU football.

But you do and that is the point of this whole thing. But after all it is just a football game and that is how some people look at it. But if your girlfriend would break up with you because you wanted to skip out for the LSU game, then you have to re-think this situation.

hey man, I'm all for the Tigers, but don't mess something with your girl up, just pray we win, and burn the reception early, take commuion, ask for forgiveness-and then maybe Jesus will forgive you for missing the game

if it was me id spend the night in the dog house to see the game.

you can always make it up to the girl friend but you can never see the game live again.

Roscoe,
You need to man up. My GF doesnt give a damn about LSU football but she knows I do and realizes if something like this comes up she might as well not even ask me. Then again I can watch football and still get laid.

Doesn't matter whether or not she casres about LSU football or not...the point is that you do and she should realize that. Relationships are about give and take. If she can't give you the ability to watch LSU Florida because she would rather take you to a wedding then its probably not worth it.

If the game is important to you she should realize that and let you go watch it after the ceremony. This way you would only have to skip the reception.

Here's my idea. Just be "that guy" at the reception . They will kick you out and badda-bing now you can find a place to watch the game.

one of two things come of this-weigh those options and stand by your decision, if you skip the game, it could be good for you and your girl, and one day she may share your passion for the tigers and you'd almost never miss a game on account of anything in her power, skip the wedding, and you may never know
again-good luck holmes

I love how people say to man up and watch the game and stay home. A real man goes to the wedding with her if he thinks he has a long term future with that girl. I'm as big of a fan as the next guy, but at the end of the day, some weeks you have to bend a little to make room for the lady.

If you said this, you are not as big a fan as the next guy...

The point is why would you want a future with someone who is making you go to one of her friends weddings during something that is important to you. If it is a member of her family, I can see it and dude needs to suck it up and go, but a friend....come on now!

Thanks coon

I almost had to use this tactic in '05 when the Tennessee game was going to be on a Sat when one of my fraternity brothers was getting. But low and behold the game was moved to Monday night instead.

Go ahead and turn your testicles in to her. She owns you. For starters, if your girlfriend would rather go to a wedding than to watch LSU/Florida, you might want to take a look at where things are heading for you.

I would bet money you are single, divorced, or married with a divorce in sight.
