It is easy to shine if a team or individual makes all the right decisions. But doubt or confusion sets in, it is easy for a team or person to get "discombobulated." It seems like we saw Drew Brees do this last night against Miami. The greatest defense in the land (and I am not saying Miami was) can be confused if uncertainty sets in. I believe it happened this past Saturday, but the team will reunite, settle down, and play much better as the year goes on. There will be a rematch this year.

One of the biggest concerns I saw was lack of pressure. AJ and JFF are as good QB's as Murray. Hopefully Chavis&co will get it worked out before November.

Holy crap, it takes an Alabama fan to bring some rationalization around here. I guess the rumors about a handful of them not being delusional are true.

Nope, your problem is you don't know shite about football or defense. LSU did NOT play "prevent" against Alabama.

Thank you.

I actually feel we're better than expected. Excited to see if we can catch a couple lucky breaks and make a run.

It was an objectively great game. LSU has nothing to be ashamed of. We won't always have a top defense. Deal with it.

true, can't help but wonder what if....2011 defense with 2013 offense, we might have scored in the 80's a couple times.

Lsu is good, real good. But that defense against Georgia was bad. If they play like that at T-town, Bama will win by 2 TD's

Damn I hate when I agree with a Gump, but well said sir. Everytime one of these experts here doesn't see an all out blitz they think we are in prevent.

The defense looked terrible and we're going to have a lot of shootouts this year. But from the reactions of our own fans you would think LSU should just forfeit the rest of the season.

I guess the catastrophe syndrome is true.
Nah. My guess is that we have been so offense-starved for so long, it's hard for the Tiger Nation to imagine being a big Offense winner without a big defense.

Don't get me wrong, I think both are needed over the long run, but some teams (like Oregon) seem to do pretty good on just offense and scoring.

Wondering if LSU can and will break its own mold, at least for this one season.

People thought it was a great game between two top ten teams. Everyone believes we still have a legit shot to run the table and make it to Atlanta. Except our own fan base.

It really is amazing how your whole perspective can change when you get outside of your own little bubble.

As someone who has lived over 1,000 miles away from Louisiana for almost a decade, it's remarkable how different my take on LSU or the Saints usually is than my friends or family that still live at home.

When the your biggest trek outside of Louisiana is a weekend road trip to Gainseville or Knoxville for an away game, it probably means you may be too close to see the forest for the trees.

I mean, it's pretty comical that mouth breathers like Glenn Guilbeau and Bobby Hebert set the narrative that our local fans are constantly exposes to.

Let's see just two years ago we go undefeated in the SEC and win the Conference and play (altho poorly) in the MNC game and our Coach was voted the Coach of the Year by at least 4 different groups. I hardly call that domination by our rivals. In 2011, we beat Bama on their field with a problem O and a great D. Now, we have the reverse...as do many SEC teams this year. I think your comment is inaccurate and indicative of those LSU fans who grumble at anything less than perfection.

Yep.
I'm not sure which "rivals" are dominating us. We're in a great position. Actually we're in about the same position we were last season except, as has been noted, we have a great offense and a currently average defense. Last season it was reversed.

Most knew once we got Cam that the offense was gonna be great.

Cam! Geez, I'm getting sick of the hero worship on here. If Cam was here last year our offense would have sucked. We had no line! you can't do shite with no line! Ninety percent of the coaches at a program of LSU's caliber can coach well if they have the talent. When Chavis had Peterson and Brockers he was a genius; now he's an idiot. Last years offensive coaches were idiots when we had no line play, and this year the coaches are geniuses.

LSU did play prevent last year against Bama on the last drive. I was at the game and saw the safeties sitting back twenty yards off the ball. Everyone got deep drops, and I don't believe there was a blitz until Bama was inside LSU's 25. In other words, Chavis did exactly what he always does - played prevent - and exctly what Saban said they were expecting him to do. And he did it again against Georgia.

Speak for yourself on who's tired of what. LSU is winning 10 games a year. Of course we get disappointed in the short term, but anyone who's looking at that long term knows that this is a golden age in LSU football. When it's gone you'll wish it were back.

If you can't be happy now, just save yourself some time and give it up, you won't ever be happy.
