you realize you said its a wash, thus meaning we all cancel each other out. You pretty much contradicted yourself when I was instructed to take my "P&G glasses off". If you look at my history its clear im not the biggest optimist overall, ive stated numerous times we'll probably go 8-4...

To clarify, as far as the glamour positions (not QB) we DO have top flight talent.

On a side note people need to look at Bama. They have a completely average QB and overrated set of WRs. They also lost basically their whole defense(which was a big part of the team's identity). Is the Bama fanbase being all bitchy about it? No! They still think they are the team to beat.

Well - they do return a Heisman winning RB, and I think the Bama receivers have earned some respect. However, almost all of the experience on defense is gone - Hightower, Barron and Dareus return and are outstanding, but Bama has more questions on defense than we have on offense right now, and that is saying a lot.

The team WAS talented last year

Where?
5 star WR's that weren't used or weren't thrown to.
5 Star QB/RB/(Whatever he's called today) who was underutilized and mismanaged
5 Star DB and other 4 Star DB's that haven't lived up to expectations or coached up properly
All SEC LB's
All SEC Kicker

The only real places of poor/inexperienced talent was along the O line and D line. Unfortunately, for us, both of those are critical positions.

bama fans have thought they were the team to beat every year since the late 1880's

pretend its you, who is the HC or OC or O line coach.

wouldnt YOU have learned something from last year?
Arent YOU quite aware that the fanbase is on the edge of lighting the torches and coming in the dead of night?

When I hear Leslie Miles say, we are going to hit and block and tackle with authority, I suspect he is confessing his truth and rage.
My guess is that the HC is very serious about seeing a power running game happen vs NC, and from then on.

If we have a serious power running game, in the midst of the chaos OC Crowton creates with his calls, I think we will be better on offense.
There are two other possible ways for the team to improve.
1. My personal favorite: J L throws only to LSU. NO ints.
In this case, he will be an important piece of the offense, because he can sure enough throw the ball downfield.
2. JJ feels it. JJ is ready.

With the offense they run thats all they need. He was effective enough last year to lead them to a NC.

Sabans just reloads. They have tons of talent on the d sise of the ball.

irrelevant......we all saw the spring game and judged for ourselves that it would be improved (even with some dline guys out). Citing this Miles quote is so over played.

SOME so-called LSU fans. Not all, or even most of us are that way.

Lets be honest here. OK. I want LSU to do GREAT THIS YEAR. BUT Can someone PLEASE tell me HOW the offense will be better??? We are SUPPOSED to have a better o-line THIS YEAR[even after Miles said last years was his best ever.]

You have a Head Coach and OC that have ZERO conidence in the QB. [IT showed ALL of last year]

Its a chess game with an attitude. A few years ago LSU HAD THIS. Its also about SENDING A MESSAGE TO THE OTHER TEAM[ again lacking the last two years.

BASH me all you want. BUT this team hasn't given me any reason that they will come out with what they need. A SMACK-YOU-IN-THEMOUTH type attitude.

The playbook is about 100 pages and the coaches will only use about 15[ YOU saw this last year.] Another year will help the QB position???? NOT cutting down ANY player. The coaches jobs are to TEACH THE GAME OF FOOTBALL at this level.

BOTTOM LINE is that. WE HAVE talent, but it can take you only SO FAR if YOU CAN'T TEACH IT.

VENT OVER!!!!

I would love to be in a bar with you.

not drinking with you, because im convinced you're insane and might slit my throat at any moment

But I would love to be in the bar watching you. Just screaming inaudibly at random points in your sentences.

god, it would be great

i can only dream

HE didn't lead them to a NC....their defense led them to that. McElroy is a puppet and was fortunate enough to be surrounded by superior talent. Without the RB's and that defense...they lose at least 2-3 games.

I would think some type of counseling is in order, but there are too many fans to do it one-on-one. Clearly this calls for a television program where a trained mental health professional helps them out. It would either need to be a group session, or perhaps a call-in show.

Basically, you just want to bash Miles. Do you think Bama or Florida would have been in SECCG with Jefferson at QB?
If so,please explain and be specific.
I would love for LSU to have had McElroy or Tebow at QB last year. Would have nice to have QB run a play w/o coaches having to tell him what to do before the snap with the play clock often winding down.

With UA's OL, I'd say yes. JJ had comparable #s with the atrocity we fielded last year. It's proven time after time you don't need run and shoot O with a Heisman QB to win the SEC or MNC.

Feel better? Dude, you have no earthly idea how a bunch of 20-year-olds are going to perform BEFORE they play the first freakin' game of the year! Relax a bit and give the kids a chance to at least get a shot at North Carolina before you write 'em off.

Thats right!!! But there are folks on here that think LSU will be AWESOME this year. I don't think THIS is the year.

Ok well what did the 05, 06, and 07 teams give you? I feel the same before every season. I here the talk and I like to buy it but every years its wait and see. Everything is unknown: a fresh sheet, a clean slate. What can any team really give their fan base in the spring and summer when going against themselves? If the O is great, well the D just isnt showing you anything and its gonna suck. And if the D lights it up, the O isnt showing you anything and its gonna suck. Everything you referenced in your quotes was to go look back at last year. Well in 08, if I go and "look at last year(07)" its gonna be rather misleading to how the 08 team faired. What I am saying is you can look at things one of two ways: Have hope and have faith in your team or just assume nothing will get better and maybe worse? Its the same every offseason and those who guess right about whats gonna happen in any given season really only got lucky and have no true premonition of how things will turn out.
