I am at a point where I am tired of these players that are all about themselves AFTER they sign to play for LSU.
Once the players have made the decision to sign with LSU and become a Tiger, I expect them to always be a Tiger. I may be naive on this, and I don't give a crap.
At this point in my life, I only want LSU to sign and play the best players they can find, THAT WANT TO BE AN LSU TIGER. If players can't get playing time and want to transfer, I understand that, but to be a starter at LSU and transfer to another school, especially a school that LSU plays every single year, is just completely and totally unacceptable to me.
I know it is there life, and they can do whatever these lousy rules allow these days, but as far as I am concerned the NCAA has destroyed college football for all but a hand full of schools....and LSU isn't one of them at this point. Time will only tell if we can catch up, but boy does football stink right now.
BTW, thanks again Joe!

They need to have a transfer fee. If you want to transfer, either you or the school you're transferring to has to pay the school that that you're leaving...or sit out for a season.

I have always wanted to be at LSU but if Columbia or Colorado or even Washington State offered me 6 figures and LSU didn't match, I would be gone too.

That said, I wouldn't be a bitch and move to a rival school

Thanks old man.

Ricks news sucks but that doesn’t make rules lousy. Some teams have been quicker to catch up with change. In 5 years this will be the norm and hopefully LSU will have benefited from these rules and win another natty.

You are.

I remember when I first realized that not every player that comes to LSU has the same deep, undying passion for LSU that I do, and that many, if not most, are here in hopes of being able to make living in pro football. I think I was like 12.

Totally agree with ya. I have been coming to Tiger Stadium since 1974 and this burns.

Why recruit players and spend all that time/effort.
They are gonna leave anyway since the media said this is all wonderful!

I think you'd still have kids get the buyout paid, but you'd also still have some kids sitting for a year. It wouldn't eliminate transfers but it'd sure make it less inviting.

I mean, if they have been here on campus, we have invested time, food, housing, education, etc. That’s money we spent on a kid with the idea they would be here for 4 playing years.

I like the idea of a transfer fee. Grad transfers would be different I would guess.

Not really. I'm just some guy. You do seem to have a bit of an inferiority complex, though.

Lou Holtz had a great quote on this:

He was asked what the difference in football players today and 50 years ago... "Simple today's athletes talk about RIGHTS and PRIVILEGES. And the players 50 years ago talked about OBLIGATIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES!"

Athletes don’t have an obligation to LSU. Fans need to understand that. Lsu2006 is spot on.

We want them to love LSU like we do (some do) but they don’t. They care about money and why blame them. So do I

I would say Amen to this statement....My time is very close to that in being a fan....just sick when players choose to go elsewhere
