You can't be this dumb. I bet you're one of the people who actually believed JJ was in danger of being convicted of a felony.

You can apologize now

So you would only bend the rules because they are players and you want to win a game. Rather shitty logic as if another coach did this you would be lambasting him as a shitty coach for not following the rules. Although purple and gold colored glasses are thick tonight
No, I would do it because I don't necessarily agree that the equivalent of a misdemeanor if they were actually caught doing the alleged activity constitutes a one game suspension. I disagree with the consequences associated with the rule on the book.

So you actually don't believe being caught with marijuana would ultimately result in the consequences you posted under the law?

Good thing in Louisiana fine is 500, 6 months in jail
so you're quoting the maximum possible as the norm. lol ok
quote:
the offender shall be fined not less than three hundred dollars nor more than one thousand dollars, and shall be imprisoned for not less than ten days nor more than six months
ok, so essentially the same. thanks for clearing that up
btw, call me next time someone serves time in jail for a first time offense of getting caught with a joint

Here's the penalty for simple battery:
Simple battery is a battery committed without the consent of the victim.
Whoever commits a simple battery shall be fined not more than one thousand dollars or imprisoned for not more than six months, or both.
You must be a lawyer. Only lawyers can be this stupid.

The stupidity levels in this thread are fricking depressing.

I believe marijuana should be legal and taxed, however, players must suffer the consequences for their actions of a failed drug test. As of this posting it is still an illegal act and the rules are black and white.

We should all do illegal things and see if the cops care.... The OP should start by smoking some weed in the vicinity of the cops
So what in the hell does this mean?

I do enjoy the name calling, first sign that someone is starting to lose it

The big deal is that it's getting them suspended right in the middle of big time SEC West divisional games. If they miss Bama for this, it's a huge deal. They are 3 starters and the team needs them.

The rules are also black and white for curfew violation.

As they are, and the rules state the consequences for that action are less than a failed drug test

You really believe all of the players who violate curfew receive punishment as stated in the rules?
If so, my statement about dumb is inaccurate. It's much too soft.

didn't want to be bottom paged. see you didn't respond to it either because you know you're full of shite. they're both minor misdemeanor offenses. no one ever gets 6 months in prison for a joint, that's just bullshite. just like no one gets the maximum sentence for underage alcohol offenses at 12 months. it's a pretty simple concept really.

you have a copy of that rule on you?

Players should abide by the rules, simple as that... It isn't as though the rules are like boot camp
Posted on 10/20/11 at 12:10 am to lsufball19
I would take that bet since you can not back it up with proof
Posted on 10/20/11 at 12:11 am to lsufball19
I know the team rules adequately

Players smoked pot at a school with a longstanding reputation as a party school.
