I see them comparable to Tn. and I don't feel they are the best team in the nation. I really think we are going to put ourselves in the conversation nationally this weekend.
We have better starting pitchers than Arkansas and their offense can be streaky. They do have a quality closer and perhaps a better bottom of the lineup hitters. I just get the feeling they have been playing a little above themselves and it is time for them to lose a series this weekend.
I am going to go on limb here and predict our veterans will carry us. Marceaux and Labas of course, but I'm looking for a strong outing from Hilliard on Sunday (TBA) and a big weekend from Beloso.
I hope our catchers and Dugas are ready to go and the box will be rocking this weekend. They can't deny us the playoffs if we smack the number one team can they?

Their lineup is top 5 in the nation, easily. That's not to say that Marceaux and Labas can't handle them but they're that good. I'm not sure how well anyone outside of Marceaux and Labas will handle them.

Their pitching staff is very talented. Top 10 talented staff. They haven't had great results, though. We can score on them.

When you combine a lineup like that with a staff with a high ceiling (especially with a wipe out closer), you're looking at a Omaha team. I don't think they or anyone else is unbeatable - Vandy may be the closest to that, Texas/Texas Tech, Louisville, and ECU are also real solid when you look outside of the SEC.

We need to get on them early in games and hope to get plenty of innings out of our starters. The health of Milazzo/Travinski and Dugas is important. I especially don't want to go through this series with Wyeth or B Doughty - LF may be ok without Dugas, but I'd rather not take that chance.

I don't think our postseason hinges on this series, but we need 1. 2 would be great. Sweep would be huge. If we get swept, we'll need to win all 3 of our final series and at least 1 SECT game...which is alot of pressure with only 1 of the 3 being at home and the SECT being so strong. I think we get at least 1, but I don't see us sweeping - we're more likely to get swept than us sweeping.

I don’t want to take 12 HRs out of the lineup.

His weekend will tell us a lot about how much our team has improved over the last 2 months.

I hate criticizing because I don't see these kids practice and I don't know these kids on any personal level but Mainieri has been awful slow getting this team at its peak. I believe we are just now starting to hit our stride and actually will continue to grow. Mainieri still has a lot to figure out, DH, catcher, 2B, Sunday starter, bullpen. If he doesn't speed up the process we might miss the train. I just have this weird feeling some things will get established this weekend. If I had to take a guess, Beloso DH, Arnold 2B, Milazzo C and Hilliard Sunday.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Bianco at 2B tomorrow night.

It's absolutely not my preference, but I wouldn't be surprised.
