It’s amazing to read all the excuses in this thread. 600+ yards to Ole Miss is inexcusable. Nothing to do with the offense or final score. The defense performed abysmally against Ole Miss and has looked bad at many other times this year.
We used to make fun of Oklahoma for this kind of thing.

Calm the frick down. We were up 28 - 0 at one point and in the second half Ole Miss decided to try some things with Plumlee and Ealy they had not done all year. Nobody expected them to go glorified triple option. Pair that with the fact that after the half, LSU had gotten bored with that game and you get what happened.
80% of their fans left at halftime. Most people figured Ole Miss would quit trying in the second half.

Their line averaged over 300 lbs....

I was impressed with Miss State’s D-Line. They held LSU in check the better part of the first half.

Agree. But it’s not “the sky is falling” bad either. It’s just an average defense that can make enough stops early that, paired with this offense, is enough to win against any team in the country.

They had to. Close game ... only chance of winning. We were up 2-3 touchdowns. No way ole piss was gonna catch us.
