You are not comparing on equal terms (apples and oranges). 1/9/12 LSU was playing for a National Championship. 1/20/19 was a game to get to the next game.

1-20-19

Because getting to this point in the NFL is so much harder.

Plus on the college side 44 - 16 might be the worst considering they were the greatest college football team ever until Trevor got a hold of them.

I'm as big a Tiger fan as anyone but it is just a game played by a bunch of college kids you don't even know

What??? Most of the kids that play for LSU from Louisiana! The Saints are basically paid mercenaries from all over the country that nobody knows.

Just imagine how bad the Saints loss would have been if we hadn't already won a Super Bowl.

You think folks are pissed now, if that had been our first chance at a Super Bowl there damn well might have been some rioting going on.

As others have said, 1/9/2012 was just embarrassing. LSU was never really in the game and just got dominated.

1/20/2019 The Saints win the game and are playing in the Super Bowl if not for the refs ignoring the most blatant pass interference in history that included helmet to helmet contact.

Hard to say, probably 1/9 simply because it was the championship game and we came out flat as frick.

I can tell you this though, as a fan of both, easily the two hardest losses for each for me to take.

In regards to greatest wins, the 2003 championship while I was a student will never be surpassed unless a son of mine plays at LSU and wins one. For the Saints, the first superbowl will never be surpassed unless the same happens.

I was lucky enough to go to both. You can't take these epic seasons and championships for granted.
