Yea,that's what the staff and players need right now in a press conference."You know,I can't tell you how disgusted I am right now in our defensive coaches. And,I'm not letting our players off the hook ,either. If we don't improve,I'll coach them myself and take the redshirt off some guys and play all freshmen."

of all the criticism i've seen it's like

80% on the 40-50 year old coaches
20% on the kids, and most of those people making these comments are rantards

there is a huge difference in saying our DC sucks and saying things like:

-our DL won the battle with UF's OL
-we did everything we wanted on D
-we got the matchups we wanted
-we got the pressure we wanted (this is actually true, based on history)

Funny how one screwed up game spells disaster.
Michigan had a couple, tOSU had theirs, USCw, OU,
Fla., Penn States will get theirs, Missouri, etc., etc.. Relax and remember what happened last year. We're in good shape and we'll beat Ala. and GA. et al. In the 3rd quarter you have to admit you were getting the "we'll pull it off, feeling". Breath deep, exhale, breath deep, exhale. Now go Tigers.

I have completely agreed with you about the questionable play of the defense ,really even counting the NT game. But,you are blowing some of Florida's stats before the LSU game way out of proportion. Florida has been a simmering pot all year.Their offense didn't lose the Ole Miss game. And,they clicked in the second half vs Arkansas.Sure,Arkansas is weak, but the Gators did put it togethor the last 20 minutes.

Other than Hawaii, they hadn't had a complete game. But you've been insinuating that until LSU got to town,Florida had been running the old belly series and punting on third down.

how the frick can you say we have had three bad games in a row, yet the record reflects a 2-1 record. give me a break, you are one who believes this bullshite you spew. you dont beat teams 60-0 week in week out. winning is all that matters, how this team plays sat night will say alot about the fortitude about this 08 team. all that matters is winning the game plus improving from the previous week.

By a team that is currently ranked #5 in the country and thought by some to be a national title contender.

I understand what you're saying. The schemes have left alot to be desired, but I'm just replying to these people that think the world is ending. Everyone on this board, well, almost everyone, knows that LSU is a better team than what showed on the field Saturday. Period. It wasn't ALL scheme. The players played like shite at the same time. Add all that up and you get a drumming by a team that hates LSU with a passion and a coach that will run up the score if has the chance.

You're not going to hear any other coach in front of the media say anything outside of that. There's a select few that may, but it's coach speak.

You really think that Miles went into the defensive coaches meetings and told them "good job guys! May need a tweak here or there, but good job!"

and they top when they get up late on teams and run up the score, making their "real time" stats even more skewed negatively

but the Gators did put it togethor the last 20 minutes.

UF did this against miami also

and Hawaii

when they're up and the other team quits, they pile it on. they didn't even do this against LSU and got almost 500 yards. all they did was run the ball at the end and our D still couldn't stop them

dude they were 47th in the country in total offense

they were leaving arkansas (who sucks) 17-7 going into the 4th. 14-0 at half (all offensive)

they scored 1 offensive TD against miami in the first half, and were up 9-3 at half

they score ZERO points against HAWAII in the first quarter, and 14 offensive points in the first half.

i'm not even counting the ole miss game

many coaches will admit a team got its arse beaten and then say changes will be made

if you didn't know what the score was, you'd SWEAR we won every matchup and the game after listening to miles' presser

we've made 0 adjustments this year

i really do think he said that after the AU and MSU games solely because we won, even though the D sucked

all other 11 sec teams hate lsu. we get the best they have cause we are dominent lion in the pride. our staff and players need to take this past week beating to heart. they need to make a pact with each other that this shite wont happen again. getting beat is one thing getting embarrased should make you wont to prove all haters wrong. pride is tough to turn your back on, this team has pride and expect there step it up.

I just HOPE the coaches don't have too much pride that they wont change the scheme up.

remember bo pelini after his first two games of prevent d?

the fans FREAKED OUT.

then he changed his scheme to way more blitzing instead of zone dime bullshite.

only difference this time is LSU has a NC in les miles, so the fans trust him.

but still can't take away that the D has been getting progressively WORSE this year.

every game.

I assume you watch Gator games as I do. In any event, what you described is what I've seen too. It's simply mind boggling to assert that Florida is a mediocre offensive team, even before they unleashed Demps and Rainey in the Arky game. And citing the "47th in the nation" stat (behind Ball St., New Mex St., Eastern Michigan, et al) is absurd. Florida has an explosive offense and I'm betting they put up big numbers in future games this season. I'll be glad to admit I'm wrong if, as some people seem to assume, the Gators immediately implode over the next 6 games and average say 14 points per game/250 YPG on offense. But that ain't gonna happen.

You're stupid. Did you even watch the games. LSU's defense has played like shite all year. LSU is very luck to be 2-1 in the SEC.

quote:

True, but take a look at the teams LSU's played. Barely beat a shitty Auburn team; they allowed 24 points to shitty Mississippi State team, and a BLOW OUT to Florida. Since the SEC slate started LSU hasn't looked too good.

Bottom line, LSU shoould have dusted Auburn and Mississippi St. Those 2 teams alone should have only scored about 17 points combined. That's how crappy they are. There has been no improvement since game one. You are correct, winning is the most important thing, but also the way you win is "VERY" important too, you stupid idiot.
