the perception of miles game and time managment has and is costing us.
At the begining of the game they showed repeated clips with the ole miss game last year, and the tennessee and florida games this year.
Played it a couple times. And this is what people remember. He will never escape that.

Then you try and beat you heads against the wall wondering why most Arkansas fans think they will smoke LSU by 3 touchdowns?
Says the a-hole whose team went to double OT with Miss St.

yeah i saw that...i just looked at stanford's schedule, and the only quality team that they've played other than maybe arizona was oregon, and oregon beat the shite out of them.

LSU is the only team with 4 wins over teams that were in the top 25 when they played and their only loss is by 7 to Auburn...
I remember when Ohio State was pulling wins out their arse on late minute 4th down plays when they made their run to the BCS title in 2002 which took a controversial PI call to aid their win in the title game, yet they were continually given high praise in finding ways to win throughout the season...in fact they had 7 wins that season by 7 pts or less...
I truly think this is just another sports "writer" that is piling on the SEC bashing wagon...

Personally, I would love to see LSU get matched up against Stanford in either the Sugar or Rose Bowl if it somehow works out that way.
It would be a thing of beauty to watch the Tigers dismantle them.

It is gonna take more than a lateral field goal or on side kick to beat us.
Arky is a good team but you keep harping on LSU should have lost to Tennessee in other threads, yeah so should had Bama last year too...Arky was just taken to OT by Miss St which LSU held to 7 pts...
we can play this shoulda, woulda, coulda game all day long...

The 2003 and 2007 teams would have dismantled some of the teams LSU has struggled with this year.
Or lost in overtime to two of those teams.

frick - we have the only set of fans who can ridicule and diminish their team's championship seasons just so they can build cred on the message board as a football expert.

I will say this we play a complete game again (which I think we will) then we beat you all down like South Carolina which we did in their house. In case any of you missed it we won convincingly and by 3 touchdowns to a team that is now in the SECCG.

And I agree with taking the scoring margin out. It helps teams that play in tough conferences and makes it fair. I honestly don't care about winning huge as long as we win. I'd rather an ugly win than a pretty loss any day.
Actually removing margin of victory makes it unfair too all the other conference, since it removes their ability to mitigate their weaker conference schedules by winning in a more dominant fashion. Could you imagine the outcry from the SEC if the computer geeks were told to remove strength of schedule from their formulas? Shouldn't Oregon's 35-point beatdown of Tennessee in Knoxville be rewarded more than LSU's 2-point escape from Tennessee in Baton Rouge?

Dude - if LSU does play a complete game (O, D and ST) - your players might not be physically ready or mentally capable to play after the half.
The "if we play as we should" game works both ways.

In case you missed it, LSU beat the team that just took Arky to OT by 22 and held them to 7 pts...
like I said, we can play this game all day...each week is different, you can't go by what one team did one week against this team and vice versa...

That is a fricking lame argument and would hold water if we played the same team on the same day.
Oregon beat Cal by 2 points - the very next weekCal was thrashed by Stanford by 30+ points.
BUT - Oregon beat Stanford by 20!!!!!
For that matter Cal lost to Nevada/USC and Oregon State by worse scores!!
See how the transitive property works in college football!!!
Sometimes in-division and in-conference rivalries and emotional games do make a big difference - the Ole Miss / Nutt vs LSU/Miles game is an example of that.

LSU shouldn't be singled out. Look at Ohio State yesterday. They eked out their win by 3.
I don't disagree completely with what the writer said. LSU is flaky, particularly on defense. And last night, even special teams. What happened to our defense last night? OM ran all over LSU nearly exactly as Auburn did.
And we've played only one complete game all year: Alabama.
Speaking of Alabama: they do not impress me (inconsistent play plus 2 loses), but the media still speak of them with respect. I guess the defending NC get this automatically the year after?
So, what goes around comes around. LSU does need to play another complete game and they have a chance to do it on the road against Arkansas.
Sometimes you need style points to separate yourself from the pack.

You beat them at your house while we played them at theirs. Not an equal analogy don't you think?

This team has played too many close games against inferior opponents to be considered national title contenders. the 2003 and 2007 teams would have dismantled some of the teams LSU has struggled with this year
in 2007, we lost to 2 average teams that finished the season outside of the top 25.
It took a 4th down conversion to beat an Alabama team that finished the season 7-6.
The SEC was down in 2007, and there wasn't a team near as good as Auburn at the time.

LSU has not been able to stop mobile quarterbacks this season. However, Ar-Kansas doesn't have a mobile quarterback, so the defense should perform well. The pressure will be back on the offense to score enough points to win against an Arky defense that I believe is much better than Ole Ms's D.

so why did Arkansas struggle with MSU and a Green-less Georgia?
We also beat Alabama, something that Arkansas did not do.
It wouldn't matter where we played MSU, we completely destroyed that team in every aspect of the game.
