I didn't see the Spring Game, but I certainly won't ever judge the team by it. I think our offensive coaching staff is better with Gonzales, and I think the Chief will have us playing well on the defensive side of the ball.

I am not a negatiger nor am I a positiger...I am a realitiger (with a positiger lean), and I judge the team by its play in REAL games.

The key is to just be realistic with your expectations and remain optimistic that the team exceeds them.

Everyone wins in this scenario.

ETA Unless the team sucks, then we all lose.

With an improved QB, I would have to agree with you. But without a leader at QB, we are headed towards a 7 or 8 win season at best. Also, Crowton is horrible. If he doesn't change his methodology of trying to fit a square peg into a round hole from last year we won't win any of the big games on our schedule.

Please explain the logic behind this, considering that these same 2 QBs have led the team to 8 and 9 win seasons, respectively.

It's amazing to me that a top 10 program like LSU can't get a QB. On the other hand, with a QB that struggles STOP GOING 5 WIDE. Completely scrap that formation from the playbook. I want to see the I-formation and use our running game as the catalyst. DeAngelo Peterson is a stud and having the uncertainty of him coming off the line is a huge asset.

I have loathed JL since his freshman campaign, however, he really has improved if you watch how he commands the offesne. Jefferson will continue to hold on to the ball and cost this team games.

Thoughts...

I watched the Sprig Game live Sat and then watched it 3 times over the weekend on TV. (recorded)

I see us a little better this year but with a tougher season, I see us losing 3 to 4 games easy.

DT's are going to get ran over by power running game teams like Bama unless they get ALOT bigger real quick!!

The DE's look good. Love the speed. Linebackers dont look impressive at all.

Secondary looks likes a little better but thats hard to tell given the fact we have no real QB to challenge them.

The RBs looked good. Will be curious to see how they hold up in a full SEC season.

OL looks better but that could be due to the small DT's they were blocking.

Tons of talent at WR but I think Randle and Shep are still going to make tons of mistakes and lots of dropped balls. They are just green and need to play.

QB.....ugggh.

They both have more talent than our NC winning QB's but no consistency of leadeership at all.

They need to get their head straight. Its all mental with both of them.

Everytime a play didnt work out JJ would have such a mad look on his face. He needs to get postive and stay up. (like Tebow would)

Not let one bad play mess up your state of mind and you end up messing up another play. Stay positive and start havig some fun out there. They both have the talent but need to take a look in the mirror because neither one is being a leader out there. With no leader, the offense looks lost all the time.

I predict 8-4 easy.

I agree. I think we will see the same $h#t as last year no matter what QB Les rolls with.

No matter how well LSU does against the other teams on the schedule, losing to Bama & Fla again for the 3rd year in a row if it happens will not sit very well for a lot of LSU fans.

Ding ding ding. What really needs to happen is letting Chris Garrett get in a situation. I see two positives there. He pushes Lee/Jefferson, or he overtakes the role.

I agree. Why not? Its become pretty apparent that JJ and JL are not the answers at QB.

Might as well get Garrett some playing time and let him learn on the fly. Dont see how it could be any worse as far as QB play goes.
