I would guess that 50% of the people at the game last night were guests of people who owned the tickets. I would say that many season ticket holders were hunting, taking a break from 5 straight home games, and decided to give somebody their tickets to a non-sec game. Yeah it was pretty lame to see the stadium like that, however, that is just life in big-time sports. Been to other stadiums for baseball, football, basketball, etc. and when the home team is dogging it, the fans are going to go find something else to do.

the booing far and away pissed me off more than the leaving.

I stayed till the end and i woke up sick this morning. Probably should have left.

The team gave garbage effort in the first half and honestly looked like maybe they had packed it in. I don't blame fans for showing their disgust with that by leaving. Way better to do that than boo.

Plus it was cold as hell and windy.

No, what you missed was the commentators on ESPN pointing out how the LSU "faithful" left their team in the lurch and another announcer saying that he's seen the LSU attendees do this time and again.

I guess Michigan fans, Florida fans, (Insert Name of School with winning tradition) fans would have stayed put if THEY were down by 28 late to Troy...
This is not the UL board.

Right, so that gives a "fan" the right to leave early. Additionally, I've noticed, LSU game attendees - cuz you people who do this aren't fans - also leave early when the team is ahead, when the weather is bad or when the opponent isn't Georgia, Alabama, Auburn or Florida.

P.S. I was wrong about the weather thing. People don't leave early due to poor weather conditions, they just never show up in the first place.

First off, last I checked, I could post just about anything I want here. Because I don't live on the internet doesn't make my opinion any less ingenuous. Secondly, for most, it won't mean a hill of beans, but maybe, just maybe, one or two people could be swayed from their evil ways.

People like you make me sick.

Newsflash: you're just a fan. You make no difference to the state of the LSU football program and how well the team plays in a game.

You could die in a car wreck today and LSU would still go on, with or without you. LSU will still go on, with or without people leaving early.

noone has to do anything to give someone the "right" to leave early. You're a fricking idiot.

You probably stayed thinking "if we win i can bitch at everyone i knew who left" The Hollier-than-though fan is no good fan at all.

You stayed at the game, good for you. I did too, but i don't blame anyone for leaving that did. We were playing like shite with no emotion against a sun belt team.

Yes, it does. What about those "fans" who didn't even go to the game? There were a lot of empty seats before the game as well.

Exactly. They're in the same class as ULL, North Texas, ULM etc. LSU should have NEVER been down four scores to this team. Thank God the Tigers finally woke up!!! This had the potential to be more embarrassing than the 2000 UAB game and the 1986 Miami of Ohio game.

You people should be ashamed of yourselves! I have never in my life been so embarrassed to be an LSU fan. I know no one will have the balls to admit to it but when more than two thirds of the stadium leaves, for whatever reason, you are no fan or supporter of LSU, YOU are a bandwagoner and do not deserve the seats you're sitting in. I'm embarrassed for LSU, I'm embarrassed for our players, I'm embarrassed for our coaching staff and I'm embarrassed for our potential recruits. You people, you know who you are, make me sick.

Wow, Mr. self righteous.

I was at the game. I stayed till the end. But I find it hard to blame people for leaving.

Their punishment for leaving was not getting to witness LSU history. Their punishment for leaving was not getting to be a part of the few people left and being able to experience it.

So I'm saying those who left early have already been punished - they don't need your self righteous I'm-more-loyal-than-you perspective.

Besides - the stadium was really more like 1/4 full, but it was about 1/2 as loud. So apparently most of the people who left early weren't very loud anyway.

You sir or madame are an idiot. We were down 31-3 in the 3rd quarter by a Sunbelt team. Our team on O and D looked downright confused. We greatly underestimated this team. We were not prepared.

It took some miracles for LSU to get the ball back and score. We really should have lost that game about 38-17.

Now, how in the hell does the defending NC, who has not dropped a game to a Sunbelt team, get hammered in their own stadium? Our team has gotten worse as the season has progressed. True fans boo the coaches, not the players. Our coaching staff deserved every boo they got last night. Our university is paying them millions of dollars to put together a respectable football team and prepare and motivate them every week. If they can't do it, I'm sure there are other coaches who can.
