The issue is not Ben Simmons or Coach Jones. The issue is that college basketball in general sucks. It's boring and the best players leave after one year of playing with a team that exist for no purpose other than to showcase the ability of a few players - some who are good and some who just think they are good. LSU should be the first SEC school to just dump mens basketball. They will be ahead of the curve.

Really? That's the level he had to obtain? Guess what... any coach they brought in could've turned that abomination around. He brought in Martin and Mickey, I give you that... Simmons was here because of Patrick. The level of play is sad with severe deficiencies in several areas, and hasn't gotten better in his four years... This year he lost his team and they quit. Simple as that. The coach has to go when he no longer has the respect of his players.

Not for nothing, but there's a reason the PMAC is often empty: the program sucks and has sucked for the majority of the last 20 years. The only time we didn't suck was when we magically had 3 or 4 NBA players starting for us and we went to the Final Four.
Set the program back? You have to have moved forward from suck in the first place to be set back.

Agree completely. I feel the same. The leadership has been terrible.
To fix it. Start at the top....

You are an idiot too if you think the last three years of Trent's program, 40-56, is worse than the last three years of Jones program, 61-39.
Don't like JJ if you want, but the program is in better shape than when he arrived.

Come on man. I said I'm realistic. Stop with the excuses and give me reasons to win. That's all I want right now. Not oh hmm its OK being 3-4th best in an average conference shite.

LSU regressed from last year in disturbing and embarrassing fashion. There also won't be very high expectations for next year.
He may have been a step up from Johnson, but LSU is now on the downward turn again and this isn't good enough.

I was banned recently(about a month ago) being critical of BS and his free throw ability so I'll try to be sweet.
I recently got the ole
"Take a break" ban myself due to repeated post about firing Jones. I'm very cautious now about my post but certainly can't see this team succeeding under the current coaching staff.
