Nah! Probably a dedicated LSU fan who loves to see LSU win., or be competitive.
Settling for participation trophies is so boring.
Too bad there are no trophies for most wasted opportunities.,
Wait until next season!
Is there a Chant or Song that fits the mind set of just participation?
Highest paid coaches with fewest trophies?

There are alot of posters who only watch Saturday SEC games during basketball season, don’t watch at all or flat out hate basketball who are chiming in and judging the die hard hoops posters so you get these silly, canned, repetitive responses. They were happy to shitcan the basketball program to protect football which is fine but why attack the basketball fans for wanting to win now that the BS is over and done with?

There's a SIGNIFICANT racial component that can be attributed to these mouth breathers hatred of college basketball and their romanticized "affinity" for muh college baseball.

I agree with you and a lot of those type fans aren’t really LSU fans. LSU is convenient for them, they like football and baseball and all their friends like LSU so they latch onto LSU for social reasons. If you’re really an LSU fan you support all the programs and especially the big 3 because at the very least you understand that they financially support the entirety of LSU athletics.

Reality : it’s time to get over Wade

Are we still playing this game?

Where are you getting that? The txt messages are to a woman. The IARP findings showed no payments to players but a payment to a former players ex girlfriend for unspecified reasons
My mistake, and you are correct. I was lumping the specifics of two separate allegations together.

If faced with that choice it’s a no brainer. MBB makes money but FB revenue dwarves it.

I admit I’m a casual basketball fan at best but i absolutely want LSU to win. Some of my favorite memories from college was going to BB games. Frankly LSU being a non factor in MBB is a big reason I lost interest in CBB.
The only thing I’ll criticize is the fans that continue to pine for Will Wade. I was super excited when he was at LSU too but man he’s not literally the only coach that could win at LSU. At the end of the day we got to 1 Sweet 16 which he didn’t even coach

I think the reasons for that are understandable though. Some fans think we made a mistake, he’s right there and it’s an easy fix to just get back to what was being built. Some don’t trust the admin to make a good hire and it’s a safe, successful move. Hard to argue with those reasons.

I get it man, so many hyperbolic media stories for so long, it’s hard to keep track of the factual details.

You present a contention from the perspective of a long time true and knowledgeable fan of the sport and dude does perhaps a total of 5 minutes Googling and comes back with the exact simple response that was expected. That literally happened to me with the poster above.
I’m tired of arguing with the uneducated, but wholly opinionated windbags.

Yesterday we had a guy on here who thought the SEC west champ played the East champ to see who won the SEC basketball tournament lol. The strangest poster I’ve ever encountered

There are so many of them on here it’s saddening.

You can’t go home again, and while he was way better than guys like Trent and Jones and McMahon it’s not like he had us in the top 5 gunning for a 1 seed, making the NCAA every year really isn’t a very high bar tbh.

That’s their problem but I suspect that is mostly because they are just mad he fired Wade.
He hired Johnson and Mulkey who both have won titles at LSU plus Buzz at A&M who is currently ranked in the top 10. You can quibble with the contracts he’s given FB coaches but he has clearly hired good coaches in multiple sports

Most likely LSU would have been in a final 4, possibly a NC, and most definitely multiple sweet 16 appearances since then. There isn't anything that says Wade would not have overcome, and his superior coaching ability would have led us to the brink of the promise land, if not actually there.

who tf are you talking down to people?
There are MANY people on this site that have WAY MORE experience and history of LSU basketball, than you. I'm one of them. I can still remember the 81 final four like it was yesterday, and then the 86 run to the final 4...followed by the elite run in 1987 with a team that struggled during the regular season....
Just remember, while you think that you are some expert of LSU basketball on here, and dismiss all others that have far more history than you....your time will come soon, when younger, ignorant kids, come on here and think they know it all, and everyone else, regardless of history following the program, is far less knowledgeable. You are actually the worst kind of LSU fan.

Not to turn this into a Journalism bashing thread (although a dozen a day wouldn't do any justice to their incompetence), but the desperation for clicks has turned every possibility of a shiny hook into a feeding frenzy. The Wade situation being a poster child for that.
I happen to think LSU administration had good cause to fire Wade at the time. Had we kept him, the media shite storm would've been relentless for some time and who knows if the relatively light NCAA sanctions would've been greater? Today with the advantage of hindsight, they obviously should have kept him, weathered the storm, and even if there were greater sanctions, we would still be better off as a program.
Hopefully we cut bait next month and move forward with a new staff. And I will admit, I have no idea who that should be.
