This. Hess seems to have the hotter arm right now. Newman has made things more interesting than need be the last several times he's come in. His ERA is still good, but he seems to be good for a walk or 2 each time out. It certainly hasn't been easy lately.
ETA: his seniority and composure is probably why he's in, moreso than his stuff. He just hasn't been the same since the back injury

I'm OK with Hess staying in the setup role but when he strikes a guy out on 3 pitches in the 8th I'd just leave him in in the 9th. When he's on he's much more of a shutdown pitcher lately than Newman.

I've been following LSU baseball since I was a kid in the 80s. There were so many games where people were doing the exact same bullshite yelling at Skip frickING Bertman. People find anything to bitch about, when they should just realize; it's fricking baseball.... shite happens...
