Here they were 3-0 and feeling pretty good about themselves and we go to New York and lose to 2 decent tourney teams.

I'm pretty upset with the way they played in both games, because it seemed like there was no game plan in either. We looked like we were just trying to out talent them, and that will not win games against quality opponents.

Any chance that Coach JJ uses this as motivation and we can win out our OOC games? I hope Ben comes out angry these next few games and puts the NCAA on notice!

Best thing that could have happened to them IMO. Sometimes you have to go back to go forward.

Yeah, no, just no.

Fact is we played like shite and lost to 2 team we shouldn't. This is going to hurt a lot down the road, despite the fact we were missing 2 starters, we dont get that pass the "big programs" get.

The defensive play was very upsetting....and looked like a bunch of standing around on offense.

Sounds like another LSU coach. JJ better take notes on what's happening across the street.

I agree that it can hurt us, I don't see it having an impact on our RPI that much though. Marquette and NC state are two good programs and they should be top 75 RPI by years end.

The offense was very stagnant. It seemed at times they were waiting for Ben to do something and when that never happened they settled for low percentage 3. We have to able to run set plays and move the ball around. I just don't see it right now.

Well coached teams that play good fundamental basketball are going to give this team fits. Just like last year.

Missing 2 guys that will be starters come SEC play. They are a young team that will get better. Hornsby comes back and there is no way that him Sampson and Blakeney will be cold on one night. Odds are two of those three will be making shots and you just have to figure out which ones..

We lost to worse teams OOC last year and made the tourney. And having 2 starters out hurts. We will make up for it with a win against Oklahoma at home. And they're not tourney teams, but neither are bad teams. Both will have around a 75 RPI which won't be awful

We look like a and 1 team. No coaching or game plan at all. Run down the court and Jack up quick shots.

So you are saying that good teams with good coaches are going to be tough to beat? Way to go out on a limb there. The same goes the other way to. LSU is extremely talented and will be tough to beat and CJJ is a better coach than people give him credit for. Get ready for a wild ride fellas gonna be fun to watch.

they will have some nights where they got bogged down in a halfcourt game and don't have much answers. that said they're 5-0 with hornsby and victor will be available soon.

this team is still the best passing/catching team we've had probably since trent's first team

it's truly hilarious to see the comments from people who CLEARLY have not kept up with this team. Maybe it does look like a 1 and done team currently...but in 2-3 weeks this won't be the same team at all. People annoy me

RPI doesn't mean everything. LSU had a realtively weak RPI at the end of last season, yet they still seemed to make the NCAAT relatively comfortably. The reason is because they were 6-1 against other NCAAT teams with 4 of those 6 wins coming on the road. Now I don't know if NCSU and MU are going to be tournament teams down the line (I don't think they will), but LSU missed maybe their only opportunity to get a somewhat quality "away from home" win in the non-conf. schedule. Those two losses don't "sink" LSU, but they do leave very little room for error in conf. play.

Hopefully Wake Forest continues to improve. Hopefully Houston is as good as some thought they could be. N. Florida is a good team. LSU has to win them all.

They went into Brooklyn the prohibitive favorite to win the tournament. Instead, they are the only team that left with a goose egg in the win column. Jones didn't set up a very formidable OOC schedule, so it's not like LSU is going to curry a lot of favor come March for testing themselves in Nov/Dec.

That's Jones' "offense". It's not going to change. I said it before the season and nothing has changed my mind. LSU is going to be in the top 2 of the SEC in 3 pt attempts per game. (Right now they are tied for second). Part of that is because they are guard oriented. Part of that is because they play at a fast tempo. But the biggest part of it is that Jones' offense is so inefficient that LSU just lazily settles for the shot that's always available, the 3 pointer.

Hopefully, Honrsnby can add some consistency. Blakeney and Sampson can score, but they don't have the savvy Hornsby does away from the ball. Keith finds open shots. Hopefully Victor gives LSU a guy that at least threatens the opponent inside. Right now no one in the SEC is afraid of the post combo of Robinson (too slow), Bridgewater (too short), Epps (reluctant to play physical inside) and Malone (shouldn't be an SEC player)

I'm not suggesting we miss the tourney, but these 2 games will absolutely affect our seeding. Fact is the SEC is a weak conference and we couldnt afford to lose games like this. It hurts the overall perception of the SEC and even if we have a great season ahead (say we do finish something like 24-6 (14-4 SEC) we'll get a crappy seed because of things like this (probably a 7 or so).

LSU's offense is much like a pickup game, so improvement is not forth coming. Also I'm sorry but Simmons does not impress me as being a player considered in the NBA draft after this season. Not one bit. So you'll be happy that he'll at least be at LSU another year after this one.

NC State is going to get eaten alive in the ACC, I'd be shocked if they have a winning record in it.
