Mainly responding to the OP and anyone else that thinks not being the second team in the nation to have 1080 is such a big deal.

So, you don't demand excellence!?!?!

No, I have a top of the line home entertainment system with a 55" HDTV (3D). I just don't need to see high def on a screen in a stadium when I'm there to watch the game live.

I would love excellence, but I don't get my pannies in a wad when the only thing to complain about with a huge addition to Tiger Stadium is we wouldn't be the 2nd team in the country to have 1080.

Is this real life? Are we bitching about a video board that 99% of you wouldn't be able to tell a difference of the current board vs hd..

If you want HD, stay home.

Well that's kind of already happening on a large scale, isn't it?

I'm certainly not an expert on the different resolutions and if people can actually tell the difference from a distance, but it's a decision like this that can hurt the fan experience and result in smaller attendance.

I also would rather watch the action on the field, but you have to accept that others would rather watch the screen so it is LSU's job to maximize those people's game experience by best catering to their wants/needs. Attendance is going to continue to decline (nationwide) if LSU doesn't step up to the plate and pay attention to the details that keep fans at home rather than traveling to the games.

Plus, regardless of whether you want to watch the live action on the field, I'm sure you utilize the screen to watch the replays and highlights throughout the game.

BATON ROUGE, La. -- The LSU Athletics Department has agreed to give $36 million over five years to the flagship campus to help bolster academic programs that have been hit with continued budget cuts.

More on LSU
Everything LSU, from recruiting to news to game coverage, is available at ESPN.com's GeauxTigerNation.

More:
• ESPN.com Recruiting coverage
• ESPN.com's SEC blog

Louisiana State University's governing board, the Board of Supervisors, approved the unique, profit-sharing arrangement Friday.

Athletics director Joe Alleva says he knows of no similar arrangement at other colleges around the country.

The athletics program will transfer $7.2 million to other campus programs each year for five years, and if the athletics department generates a surplus beyond $3 million per year, the academic side of the school will get a portion of that surplus money, as well.

What is it about little words like "agree" and"if" that stump you?

Look man I am so sorry that you have to bear the indignity of being forced to watch non-HD while you stand in line for your nachos.
I mean that.
I truly do.

sure....how 'bout we make them 3D HD and pass out friggin' 3D glasses at all the games? And everyone gets to bring their mommy to make them sandwiches so they don't have to get up and make the strenous walk to the concession stand

Nothing to see there but Verizon and Healthsouth ads anyway. Why spend $ putting them in 1080p?

The absurdity of bitching because LSU athletics dumps milions into LSU academics instead if putting the money into HD tv's in the concession waiting area is beyond belief.
Anywhere except the Rant, that is.

Who doesn't want to see #Buganation in 1080?

Yep. But then the typical ranter response is that "we were only being sarcastic." If they only held themselves to the same level of excellence they demand from the LSU athletic department. Wonder how many of them would even have a job.

I'm being totally sarcastic..........if you don't think its a travesty to have 720pixels at the prices we are paying for tickets then you need to reexamine what it cost to go to an LSU football game.

If they have 720p in the Stadium Club, prepare for rioting.

Perhaps you should reexamine the meaning of the word "travesty".

But sarcasm can't always be picked up on a keyboard. Other people just see it as a whiny fanbase.

So this entire thread is based off of TAMU's claim that they will be the first with 1080p?

How do we even know that LSU has finalized their order for their jumbotrons? Do we know if TAMU is exaggerating their claim?
