You might need to work on deductive reasoning skills. This is easy-- O's first OC target was most likely Kiffin and Kiffin needed time to decide if he was getting HC job. Once Kiffin off the board, Canada was next choice. Easy announcement, as Canada already was not getting HC job, although he interviewed for one.
Of course, no matter how played, Rant would complain. If O just by-passed Kiffin, the accusation against O would have been that he panicked like a school girl. If he waits, people complain that waiting is killing recruiting.

I think it was obvious to anyone paying attention that Kiffin was going to get any HC job he could. Many of us called this weeks ago. Waiting on Kiffin was an error in judgment and a waste of time. Don't know why people like you that think everything O does is correct couldn't see it.
Also I think it's funny now that O supporters are now admitting that he was waiting on Kiffin. The OP actually thinks that Kiffin wasn't the #1 target because Coach O didn't explicitly say so.
You O supporters need to get on the same page.

No doubt Kiffin would take a HC offer above OC. The question was whether Kiffin was going to get an offer to be a HC. Either way it turned out, you would have complained. Even now, you complain that O should have seen it sooner.
