Middle screens and draws. Football 101.

Lots of teams do this to mitigate aggressive pass rushes and get defenses back on their heels. Does LSU know how to run these? Just an idea...

Thanks. I was beginning to wonder if I was alone. Coaches make it seem like blitzes are their and JLees kryptonite

Kept waiting on a screen last night that never came. I think jj audibled to a lot of the plays that were ran. And we all know how that story ends

We tried a middle screen to ware and the bama de tackled him. Not sure if that's legal when he's behind the line or not but both ware and jj looked at ref for flag.

really looked like a pass interference if you are talking about where Gentry got him. I'd like to know if others thought that was pass int. I'm around gumps everyday and all of them talked about how flawless bama was. But the refs ignored a lot of penalties on bama.

Yep - at least twice I saw an lsu wr tackled seven to ten yards downfield in the middle of their route. Plus the ware screen where he was tackled right as ball being thrown.

Bama d was relentless and awesome last night but far from perfect. We just have no ability to execute as an offense

3 step drops with fades and slants all day

Problem is JJ can't make those throws

The Ware one wasn't PI, can't have PI behind the LoS. We talked about that exact play last night where I watched the game. Only thing that could have been called is defensive holding but I'm pretty sure it was a shove by Gentry not a tackle, could be wrong don't remember it all that well

Oregon or Okie wouldve ran those oversized LBs around all game. They might not have beat Bama, but they wouldve tested that defense and wouldve scored some points. What we saw last nite was embarassing.

Oregon, Arky, Okie, Stanford, and dozen other teams wouldve beat lsu last night.

We tried a bunch of screens. Bama sniffed them out.

Face the facts man. We were out coached, out played and utterly dominated by Bama's defense. It was, in Brent Mussberger terms, "A Mauling"
