Old enough to have seen Jerry Stovall play when I was five years old.

Truth is we were much worse back then. Another truth is it appears that we are headed back in that direction which is the concern of many.
I'm mid 40's. Tiger fan since I can remember. First game was LSU beating TAMU 35-17 in 86 which was a great season (except for Losses to Maimi of Ohio, OM and Nebraska) and then 3 years later we sucked!
Truth is we have more talent than we did from 1990-2000(The Dark Ages), but the execution on the field looks about the same. We look CONFUSED on both sides of the ball!

As Boy Scouts, we used to "usher" fans to their seats...usually got tips for carrying their bottles!
YES... I remember ushering as a Boy Scout!! This was in the early 90s. I remember seeing the "box" seats and thinking that must be how the high class lived!!!

I've enjoyed this thread. For those of you in your 60s and 70s who are posting...
that is awesome.
Some great stories in here.
I don't think all hope is lost... but... I'm worried.
I don't think we hired Coach O because we wanted to. I think the truth is... despite what some of y'all think... the job isn't all that great to attract a top-line coach. Our fans call for heads to roll after every loss. You have to compete against mini-me every year.
Our AD is an idiot - who wants to work for him?
Our state and our school are broke. Our economy is struggling. If it continues to struggle or even gets worse... TAF money starts to dry up.
And our place on winningist lists is heavily influenced by the last 20 years.

Early 50’s, I remember Stovall being chosen National Coach of the Year, only to be fired the very next season. I remember LSU fans throwing a fit because we were going to pay Bill Ansparger $100k to be our head coach(Stovall made $40K a season). Survived the 90’s and I will survive this reboot also.

Late 40s.
I remember the dark days.
These aren't them, but we could slip there if we are not proactive.

81 years young. This year is my first not being in Tiger Stadium. As a young boy in 1945 i attended the games up to this year. Season ticket holder for many, many years. When I married , my wife & I attended two away games every year. - Good Years & and some not so good years - but Tiger Years. My problem is I can no longer walk from the the levee lot to the stadium & the walk up the ramp to the top of the south end zone. My boys & my daughter still attend the games with our season tickets. Some years ago (during a rent-a-win) a picture of the four of us standing under the south end score board was posted in the Morning Advocate. Four lonely but happy souls.

mid 20s. I remember some of the Hallman years and all of DiNardo. I remember when we were worse than we are now and more people stayed at the games and were more into the games than we are now...
