We are obviously signing so many qb's because JJ and JL are both preparing for the draft.

Are we going to let Mettenberger sign a letter of intent prior to Hall of Fame vote?

John Marino Montana could not turn the Crowton pigshit into anything, let's don't get our hopes up with Georgias backup.

I hope he has as much trouble grasping the offense as we did! No way he can run the option to the short side without studying it from the sidelines for 3 years!

Probably the same way they felt when Zach Lee and RS were recruited. Meh

JJ is the starter going into next year. I think Les would start JJ over ZM - even if ZM is better tham JJ.

And to add to this if Miles indeed does keep Crowton and does not start ZM over JJ next year if ZM is clearly heads above JJ in talent, which is not to hard to be, there will be a major uproar. If people think this season was bad just wait.

JJ and JL has had 3 years combined to put up decent passing numbers. They have failed so they are just going to have to make room for Mett

I'm not talking about because of what he can do on the field. Without his commitment we'd have 2 SR QBs, 2/3 FR and a few walk ons on the roster next year. We would have to recruit a big time guy in the 2012 class and hope one of the other extremely young, inexperienced would step up in 2012. With Mett we have 3 years to recruit the position with quality depth.

You seriously need some time away from td.com.

I'm not much into hyperbole, but this isn't far off. Getting a big time JC recruit was about the only way to avoid what was being setup to be a major-league gap at the QB position for 2-3 years after next year. Had Rivers been it for next year, the team would be lucky to win 4-6 games in 2012.

Jackpot. We were staring down a woeful couple of years and who know what that could have led to. His commitment means more to the program than just his on the field contributions.

Of course, you don't remove the starting QB and OC that have led us to a top ten finish and replace them with guys who don't know Miles system.

JJ and JHL will be seniors and having given what they can, for better or worse, won't be around after next year.Whether the guy behind them is a sophomore phenom coming up through the ranks, or a transfer with 3 years of eligibility left, they can't be surprised or troubled that Les is looking to the future. If the kid can beat them out for the starting job next season, that is just part of what comes with the territory, and it would be the same whether he's a transfer or not. JJ and JL aren't guaranteed starting positions. They're guaranteed the opportunity to compete for them. And there's always going to be some young gun looking to take their place.

Its about the offense and the coaching, or lack thereof.

I don't believe this one bit. JJ and JL just are not that good.
