How much of a slap in the face would it be to the BCS if the AP

I really hope they dont. Last thing i want is for the media to claim we have already won it all outright before this game. Besides, I'm not an Alabama or USC fan. I don't celebrate national championships that other teams rightfully win.

Not that I would be too fond of that scenario - but technically this is not the same - WE DID BEAT THEM.
It is not an empty claim as with Bama's other titles or the fact that the matchup didn't materialize as with USC

I thought about this yesterday and I think they should do it. It would be the best thing ever to get a bammer meltdown knowing they only have a shot at half the title. Which I read an article written by an Alabama sports writer that said actually 10 of bammers claimed titles were shared

How many times do we need to go over this? In the BCS era, there is NO such thing as a split title. FBS teams all play for the BCS title - that's it. One team will win the crystal football, and anything else is meaningless and worthless.

USC didn't play in the title game.
Nobody is saying OSU is getting the AP title.
And yes it would be hilarious to hold in front of the bammers noses.

Yeah because USC beat LSU or Oklahoma that year
- it is not the same argument. This is a unique situation that was not thought possible when they created the BCS.

The argument always was that the BCS was agreed upon and accepted as the national champion. I honestly don't believe people will feel better about an "AP championship."

I already mentioned in a previous post that I was not for this - but considering the "exception to the rule" aspect, it would be a nice way to trigger a bammer meltdown.

Meltdown? Hell, I'd "gradulate" you. I know your fanbase has spewed a lot of shite towards USC, but before the BCS, that was a title. If it happens, I've got no problems at all with a split title.
