I don't think this could be said better or be emphasized enough. If a team is playing as a unit at a high level for the entire 60 min of a game, they will find much more good fortune than if they're only doing that for spurts. Or if playing as individuals as opposed to a unit!!

That really makes all the difference in the world. I've seen extremly talented and physically imposing teams lose to teams with average players that were much smaller physically simply because one team played as a unit the entire time while the other didn't. This can happen at any level on any day.

if you think the odds of winning the lottery 5 times in a row is equal to LSU winning a national title, you are a damn idiot.

Little bit different in 17 when 4 teams get in. In 11, only two got in. They were lucky to get in. In 17, they deserved to get in. Both years, they were the best team, so it worked out.

What are some teams you can think of that won championships that were good but also just flat out lucky?

These two come to mind.

Luck is always in play, but would not say a major factor.
It could;however, change a game and thus the record and selection factor.

"Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity."

It's no coincidence that the most well-prepared team (bama) always seems to be the luckiest.
