what motivated Saban to take the Alabama job?
It was a great school and he wanted to try the NFL and HIS EGO didn't fit. So The Bama job was there and he took it. Facts are facts. The rest is history.

dukke v, excellence, not a championship every year, but a contender. hating Saban?, your post are more about loving Saban than hating Miles. However, I do note that your profile states that you are from Pluto. That expalins everythng

I don't hate him. I'm glad he's in the SEC. I'm glad he's in the SEC West. I'd much rather have a chance to play a perennial powerhouse every year and determine my own fate than be second guessed based on a shitty SOS.
If LSU wins, we are at the top. If we don't win, we don't deserve to be there. Easy peasey.

This is the gump spin and its disgusting that any LSU fan would believe it.
They made him the highest paid coach in college from day one.
They PAID him and he bailed on his commitment to MIAMI

Announced he was leaving on Christmas day! Thinks he is entitled to Louisianas top recruits. Lies to his players about scholorships. Seems to always get the calls in his favor ,plus his connections that somehow always work in his favor , such as the mulligan game.Seems to dance around any rules violations without punishment. BS scheduling. And I just don't like him. Hate is a strong word, lets just say I REALLY don't like him. He will turn on Bama in a minute, money is everything to the man.Loyalty means nothing. Besides the Bama fanbase is intolerable, and he is their sacred cow.

$abun gave up on his dream in exchange for the Money. Who knows what would have happened had he given it more time.
They were the only school cheesy enough to buy him away from Miami and he and his agent were the perfect money whores to take them up on it.
He broke his commitment at the highest level in his profession. And that paved the way for other Dbags like Petrino to pull their BS.
If you don't see a difference between the way Spurrier handled his stint in the NFL and what $abun did your blind. Spurrier really tried and saw it thru $abun retreated like a scared bitch and got a golden parachute to boot.
Remember the owner of the Dolphins gave that little prick everything he wanted. Only to turn around and shove it up their arse.
Anything else is just Gump spin. If you listen to them they will have you believe he hated the NFL. Really? A guy who coached in the NFL as an assistant ....who later returned to the NFL as a Head Coach for just 2 years ......hates the NFL. Yeah OK

I remember the Dinardo days. We sucked. Ever since Saban we've been awesome. Not saying it's all due to him, but I appreciate what he did for our program. Don't care if he's a "good guy"
Posted on 10/31/13 at 9:23 pm to tiger4178
I hate him. As much as he did for LSU, LSU did a lot for him too. He got 3 huge contracts based solely on what he did at LSU. He should have had enough loyalty to not come back to our division and try to hurt LSU.

Don't hate him, just who he coaches

When he came to LSU, an article was written which stated, "If he stays at LSU 5 years, accept it and be pleased". Saban vastly improved our football program and we have a BCS championship because of him.
The NFL had always been in his sights and when he left for Miami I had no ill feelings.
What I resent is that he accepted the Alabama job and I've always hated Alabama football. To make matters worse is that he's a much better coach today than he was at LSU. He had a run at the NFL and it was no longer a distraction to him.
I don't hate Saban and I respect his abilities. I could care less about his personality or lack of one. He's paid to coach and he's superb at it.
I'd rather have him on the LSU sideline and not at Alabama.

dukke v, it's not your loyalty to LSU that should be questioned, but, as a fellow LSU fan, your apparent infatuation with Saban. Maybe that's normal for guys from Pluto

Posted on 10/31/13 at 10:05 pm to the crue
the crue, right on brother, that's when Les lost any credibilty as a top tier coach, IMO. And no matter what any pumper posts about Les's history with LSU's program will erase that act by him.
