How many "experts" have a clue how many Defensive starters miss UCF game

I hear these folks constantly saying LSU with traditional mindset.

LSU brand = Defense with depth.

Topline players out on D: Fehoko, Greedy, Phillips (first half), Alexander, Fulton.

I heard one guy (radio dude last week) say, "Yeah, a couple players out, but it's LSU. They have depth and won't miss a beat".

We do not have traditional LSU depth like in '11 and other years. Losing those level of players is huge.

Will these guys realize the issue of not having our two shutdown corners at the same time? That changes how the overall D functions a LOT. That's a big drop off.

2 Dline regulars missing. That is big considering the depth issues.

Will the "experts" equate the regular UCF starting QB being out with us missing so many topline defensive players?

Do they just talk from a real shallow perspective?

Yes the majority do because there are so many bowl games and the main focus is the playoff.

There are a handful of national experts who take picking the games seriously and they do the research

Lsy has 4 weeks to prepare for a team with a bunch of 3 star talent that lost its stud qb. Lsu has 4 and 5 star talent and plenty of time for the younger guys to prepare for their increased playing time. If we were going up against michigan or texas id get it. Its fricking ucf, there is no excuse not to just plain outtalent them. Granted i consider bowl games glorified scrimmages. But there really shouldnt be a narrative for lsu to lose this game unless another 10 guys end up missing the game

LSU may not have depth by LSU standards but they still have more depth than most teams and I bet LSU still has the better defense on the field against UCF.

isn't UCF without their starting QB? I am sure they have lost starters during the season. Our fans are acting like a bunch of babies about all this

Next year's contributors get to step up. D.A. gets a chance to put them in places, with his scheme, to succeed. With that, yes, it hurts missing the starters, but UCF is missing their starting qb. Let's punch these guys in the throat, and stay on them all game, don't let them catch their breaths.

This IS the game where the OFF can set the pace. Step up and set the DEF for success. Run the darn ball, yep, it might even be dull at times. Pound these guys, and let the run set up the pass with shots downfield, over their DEF sucked up to the line. Control the LOS, and pace of play. JB is going to have a big day with his arm and feet. TE Moreau is going to get open in that 7-15 yd range, and Chase/Marshall are going to have big games. Put it in the books, we got this!

LSU’s second team is more talented than UCF’s starters. Orgeron pumpers setting up the excuse for when LSU loses seems like.

Sounds like you are making an excuse if we lose...Lets just play...yes we are out some players but this is why we recruit big time recruits...Will we win? IDK...but yes UCF isnt getting our best on defense..

Nope. Just saying that commentators seem to be as ignorant (willfully or simply) as TAMU fans who do not recognize how much of our topline talent was off the field for much of the game, and especially in 7th OT

LSU is being assumed to have depth like Clemson, Bama and Ohio State, and to have most of it's starters available, and that simply is far from a good assumption.

I'm just going to throw my 2 cents out there, and I welcome the downvotes.

I have previously stated my discontent with the... excuses that have been inserted into public opinion since Ed took over. I think Ed is doing a fantastic job, but I really wish this crp would stop. The PR stuff is just ridiculous.

LSU is playing the University of Central Florida, who's only claim to fame is that they beat Auburn last year (along with 4 other teams) and that they haven't lost to the worst schedule in college football. They have no projected NFL talent right now, and we are talking about people we are missing? Seriously?

Do you think that they have an equivalent to Tyler Shelvin, just because Shelvin didn't beat out Ed Alexander, or to Queen, just because he didn't beat out Phillips?

You think they have anything close to a Kelvin Joseph, or Kary Vincent or a Jacoby Stephens, much less Grant Delpit, Battle or Harris?

The media is actually right on this one - the players LSU is missing shouldn't affect jack against UCF. This isn't UGA, Bama, Clemson, Penn State, OU or any of those other teams. This is a team that won it's superbowl against Auburn last year and that is EXTREMELY outmatched in EVERY position WITHOUT its starting QB.

This game is basically a game to shut UCF up until they get a real schedule and it's crazy to hear people talk like we are playing a Michigan or Penn State.

And his one game in which he was "good" was against a Memphis team that took him to the wire but got sodomized by Tulane. And another thing gets over looked, almost all of these players have experienced an undefeated season, but almost as many have also experienced a winless season.
