At this point, neither has a chance to take us to Omaha. But I'll take Ross's 5.76 ERA over Ranaudo's 11.14

So Ross has more potential to you to pitch great? You see something all of the MLB scouts don't see?

I'll take the guy who's producing better right now over a guy who is expected to produce in the big leagues or even later in this season for that matter. All I'm saying is that, at the time, Ross is a better pitcher, which is all that really matters

So you'd rather our team be mediocre with almost no chance to be great than to have a small chance at being great? Sorry, I want the best chance for this team to make it to Omaha

Its not like I'm saying keep one and the other one can never pitch again for LSU. I'm saying that Ross is pitching better and to pretend otherwise is stupid. Ranaudo would still pitch game 2 or game 3, but right now, he's not pitching well. If you want your Friday guy to be your best pitcher, based on actual performances and not potential or projections or who did better last year or who is gonna be a better pro (all of which are irrelevant for this discussion), then Ross is the guy.

Plus, we're not going to Omaha. We can't even finish off a pathetic UK team in RBI Stadium. Ross limited a much better Vandy team to 2 runs, the same team that AR got jacked against. He just doesn't have it.

I would start Ross, Rittiner, and Ranaudo...in that order.

What's funny about all this Ross talk is that about a month ago he was the scapegoat for our pitching problems. After 1 good outing last week people want him on Fridays... Don't get me wrong I like the kid but let not jump the gun here.

Admittedly, he gave up 7 yesterday but...in the first, the error gave them 1 extra run. He maybe should have been pulled in the 5th when he was struggling. The 3 walks he had were the last 3 runs he allowed. He was good enough to win for 4 innings.

when you've got a star that's stuggling, there's two things you can do.

1. move him down, or out and into a relief role
2. stick by him, go down with the ship, and hope he rights it before you sink.

considering paul just won a nc, im thinkin he's going down with the ship.
