Towson's actually not bad as far as 1-AA teams go. Ranked #15 and won their conference last year. Likely would beat Idaho head to head.
This is what people don't realize when they ee FCS teams on the schedule. Many of them are better than 30% of the FBS schools out there.

The problem I have is that Towson won't bring 5k fans with them like App St. or some other fan base would. I wasn't in the meetings so I don't know if there was any other choice.

The other thing that they don't realize is that at this point in the history of college football, no one at all gives a shite that top-tier SEC teams schedule like this. LSU got a lot of praise for their schedule last year, but with the resume the SEC has built in the past 10 years (after a long period where the SEC was ridiculed for piling up creampuffs for OOC games), their schedule last season was unnecessarily difficult.

Barring current in-season results, any outsider would objectively agree that a schedule that includes games at Auburn, at Florida, vs SCarolina, at Texas A&M, vs Bama, vs Moo State and vs. Arky is worthy of praise, even if LSU had no real hand in selecting it.

We had a date to fill, so we filled it with Towson. Who cares?

I think the REAL issue here is that we are ready for some REAL football games, and it is unfortunate that outside of Ole Miss, our schedule in Oct and Nov is downright brutal. I think people would rather us have this game in the middle of the crazy lineup starting Oct 6: @ UF, vs SC, @ A&M.

FCS, however, is not Division 1.

Yes it is.

It used to be Division 1A and 1AA. 1A became FBS. 1AA became FCS. Towson is FCS division 1.

Correct. D-1 has two subdivisions: FBS and FCS. Both are D-1.

Who gives a shite as long as it isn't Tigervision...I wish I had money...I would want to look at buying Tigervision...if last weekend is the best they can do than there is opportunity or they should just quit.

It was suppose to be TCU, that didn't happen. Get over it! I like the schedule because I follow recruiting and I want to see the backups play. SEC starts this week for us so you will get your smash mouth football fixes soon enough and after towson it is SEC the rest of the way. We ran the gantlet last year. We have a new qb so this sets up perfectly.
