they beat Miami
so did a lot of people. i think ya'll are making a bit more of this team than there is.
you've got to remember what these guys play 90% of their games against. SUNY Binghamton, Baltimore County College, etc...

Stony Brook is by far the best team in the country. If LSU survives this weekend, which is highly unlikely, they will be ready for anything. I'm telling you, no one, not the Yankees, not South Carolina, no one is better than the Stony Brook Seawolves.

they could probably out hit a team full of MLB all stars

I'd be afraid of Eades pitching against them because batters put the ball into play on him, and the Seawolves can swing it.
I watched the game in Miami against UCF in person. The starter for UCF threw a lot of off-speed stuff, and I posted on the Rant during the 3rd inning that the SB hitters were getting some good swings, but didn't have the timing down against the SB pitcher. I thought that it would be interesting to see what happened the when the batters got a look the second and third time through the lineup. They really teed off on the off speed stuff after the first few innings.

I think of them like a really good Southland conference team. Imagine Southeastern going 21-3 in conference and winning 50 games including Miami and UCF. However their best OOC opponent was Tulane and they got swept. I think most of us would think this is a very good team that we respect but that we should handle because of overall depth. I think their name and conference lead many to underestimate them.

The 11AM start time will hurt us due to crowd noise, but hopefully these NY kids melt in the heat.
I think the 11AM start will hurt SB more than LSU. The heat and humidity at that time will be atrocious.
