You're a dumbass for saying "frick no" and "no fricking chance" at starting. The kid will obviously have a chance to come in and win a spot. For you to say there is 0% chance he is starting at a OT next year, makes you a dumbass.

I say that from a position of knowledge.

Before you decide to argue a topic you have no background on, go look up the Redempt/Woodlawn game from this season. Watch it, focusing on Collins. Even from the perspective of a lay person, you may understand the "frick no" when discussing the possibility of bumping an experienced/successful SEC starter.

Again, the kid may become an All-American.....but he will NOT start as a true freshman.

At what level did you play, coach football?

If Collins is as good as advertised, he will play some.
my nephew plays d tackle for woodlawn and has played against him. He says he runs out of gas after a while but his technique is top notch. Moffitt will take care of that.

Since there will be an opening at tackle with Barksdale graduating...

And I saw Collins play against Patterson; he completely dominated the competition.

Please explain how a kid that is a top 3 recruit at his position has "no fricking chance" at starting. Becuase, I am not saying that he will start, but he will surely come in and have a very good chance to start right away.

chris davenport was top D tackle 2 years ago. I don't see him starting anytime soon. the big guys are harder to predict

The last three stud OT(s) recruited to LSU, Andrew Whitworth, Ciron Black, and Chris Faulk, all red-shirted. Two became 4 yr starters. Will Collins start next year, highly doubtful as very few freshmen OL start in the SEC. Physically, even specimens are not ready. Watch out 2012.

I think he'd be a good Guard. He is too big for OT. I think right now he is a average T.

I don't think he will play right away. I've seen a good bit of Walker games this season and he doesn't seem as dominate as he use to be. I'm assuming it has to do with him dropping weight this year but not sure. He does get double teamed at times, but ive seen plenty of dominate dtackles beat double teams.

Ciron wasn't a stud recruit and chris Faulk rating was based more off camps and physical attributes. He was never really dominant in high school. Lael is one of the best olineman I have seen come out of Louisiana so it wouldn't shock me if he played immediately, I usually rather lineman redshirt and get used to the physical aspects of the game though.

This is no diss, but Faulk right now is probably better than Barksdale.

Bark is a very solid LT... but Faulk has sky is the limit potential.

PJ is also maybe the best center in the conference.

Line next year:

Faulk/Josh D./PJ/Blackwell/Hurst

That's a really stout group, with Washington, Collins, T-Bob as primary backups. We're loaded...

Haven't even seen Williford mentioned yet- a young guy with as much potential as anyone on the line. If Collins could come in and start at LSU we would not be an elite program. That's the bottom line.

I see you are basing this "evaluation" based on Rivals and/or Scout, mine based on real Coaches opinions. Both Studs.

eta: While both Scout and Rivals are good for entertainment value, I wouldn't put too much stock into their rankings, don't believe me, check Rivals 2005 Tackles ranking. I would rate a pre-injury Ciron over all but two (Monroe & Oher)maybe three (Dace Richardson) tackles in Rivals' top 10 based on performance on the field.
