Houston's pitchers have outstanding control. They walk less than 2 batter per 9 innings. Their ERA is good. They have the ability to slow LSU's bats down a bit, but I don't see them scoring on Nola.

Andro Cutura will certainly start Friday, and he has been nothing short of great.

I expect the tigers to win a lower scoring fare. Something like 4-2 or 3-1.

southeastern has that freshman pitcher coming on strong at the right time too.

UH is gonna play big time small ball IMO. Frickers are gonna bunt ever other at bat

They have 58 sacrifice bunts this year...LSU has 51. They aren't that much different than we are in that aspect. They also steal a lot of bases...over 80.

LSU radio host said he was an SEC caliber starter. Pitched around 3 or 4 weeks without giving up an earned run at some point this year. He attacks the bottom of strike zone very well.

Yeah that was a guess. But he's a quality starter for the lions. Hopefully he plays to his ability in the box.

Houston has the best RPI out of all the other 2 seeds, but that doesn't matter because LSU is starting in Baton Rouge an isn't stoping until they raise the championship in Omaha! It doesn't matter whose put in front of them! The rest of the bracket better watch out because the tigers are coming an they are hungry, it all starts Friday with suppose king of the jungle!

I can save you the trouble...

SLU stats. Click on the player's name for the game by game breakdown

This guy has pretty good numbers, but the only really good team he faced was SHSU, who beat him. He had good strikeout games early in the season. He has only allowed 2 HR, and none since March 14.

Isn't the word around the campfire that Nola's gonna go against SLU?

No. The only thing certain is that Nola WON'T pitch Friday. It's not even being discussed... At least not seriously.

You don't pitch your ace in the least important game (not to mention worst team) left on the schedule.

Not saying it isn't an important game that needs to be won and against a formidable opponent/pitcher, merely that everything after it is more important and against better competition, not to mention You can't be eliminated by SE Friday.

Even if you lose against SE, the Saturday game becomes an elimination game and an absolute must-win (and therefore a more crucial game than Friday).
