Mett better get his shite together this year with Jennings in the wings!

gonna be a short rope. If he can't get it done again this year we have backups who can in Rivers and Jennings.

Cam's ability to diagnose a defense will certainly help, but the ingredients were already in place for a truly dangerous passing game for the first time since Matt Flynn graduated.

How the hell can you say the ingredients were in place but spend the whole post describing how they WERE NOT in place?

We have no clue how good Jennings and Rivers will be under real game pressure so no. It's all Mett unless he is injured.

Zack's passing efficiency was 11th in the SEC.

Zack's passing offense was 92nd in nation.

If he struggles against TCU, you can bet the house on Cam giving the other guys a good look in our next two games.

If either show ability, Zack is going to be on a short leash as the year moves ahead.

The only way mett isn't in the game is a blowout or injury.

First year. He's got a great upside.

Miles passing offense. He's been a running guy since 2008

Go back and check the past 5 years and report back on LSU's passing offense during that time, regardless who the QB was at the time

What's weird, is people think Mett had a bad year last year but claim JJ had a very god year in 2009. Yet Mett passed for more yards and JJ was sacked as many times that year as Mett was last year.

His upside is tremendous. A real OC, experienced WR's and an improved offensive line. He'll top last year easily. Out of the way, Negatigers, we have a real OC, and the offense will explode this year.

Zack's 22 and has been in the LSU program since 2011.

He's a senior. When do we stop talking about his upside and start talking about great results in his play on the field?

Miles passing offense

Miles didn't complete only 58% with 12 TDs and 7 ints with a passing efficiency of 127.

That's much worse than Lee and Jefferson combined to do the year before and they are seen by many to be terrible.

I hope Zack burns it up, but if he continues to struggle look for Cam to try another QB quick.

just as long as we have someone at the wheel that can drive this offense. It's all on Mett but if he isn't capable Jennings and/or Rivers will be.

This good: LINK What an incredible performance. Last year's simplistic, crude offensive system obscured Mettenberger's true potential, in my estimation. He has the skill set and physical tools to be exceptional, as he demonstrated against Alabama in Tiger Stadium. Cameron, a legitimate NFL offensive coach, may be able to elevate Mettenberger's play to an elite level. Our offense has to improve if we are going to compete for an SEC title this season. I'm hopeful.

If Mett's pocket awareness and accuracy on passes over 15 yards don't improve, then we will see a simple offense or a different QB.

hopefully not going to another year of simple offense. We have Cameron now. If Mett doesn't perform, time to look at another QB. Jennings and Rivers seem to be ready and certainly couldn't be worse than what we saw for most of last season.

LSU has not had a decent QB since Flynn and RP left. Having dumb, inaccurate QBs wasting downs or risking turn overs is insane.

Did you miss the fact he was working behind a patchwork OL and his receivers had a bad case of the drops? If those weren't factors then I would agree that he was on a short leash, but I think Les and co see what happened last year and give him a clean slate.

After Alexander and Turner started the OL got better. WRs got much better by midseason. Mett improved but still held the ball to long and missed open receivers. His ability to move in the pocket was horrible. He has the size and arm, and I hope a year of experience will help his pocket awareness and ability to slide in the pocket.

He needs maturity and better leadership skills. With all these blue chippers watching, Les is not going to settle for last year's Mett. Les and Cam continue to praise Jennings, and I expect him to play some this year even if Mett improves.

I fricking hate LSU fans.

Thank God our recruits don't factor in the petty ignorance of our fan base when making the decision to come to LSU.

bullshite. Miles and Cam aren't gonna tank another year on offense if Mett can't get'r done with Jennings and Rivers available and ready to go. However I think Mett is going to be much improved and ready to get it done.
