re: How does this board look if Harris doesn't overthrow 1 out of every 3 passes?

BH Sophomore Stats
1,904 yds - 53.2%, 12 TD - 5 INT in 11 games
ZM Junior Stats.
2,609 yds - 58.8%, 12 TD - 7 INT in 13 games
and this is with passing, what, 15 times a game for the first few games and missing the McNeese game.
The talent is there

Honestly other than the goal line wild tiger debacles the play calling was pretty good against Ole Miss as well
Just poor execution on throws and entirely too many destructive penalties

Diarse is pretty bad. That beautiful ball vs TAMU.
Idk what happened with him.

Agreed. I'm all in with putting the blame on Harris. He did the team a disservice.
This is where I disagree. It seem like the Tiger faithful are holding out hope that next year will somehow be similar. What about the other shitty years? Does Cam & Co. get a pass for those dismal years? Aside of LF7, the whole offense needs retooling; including our wide outs who seem to have grease on their hands sometimes.

But let's remember what Cam did with Mett from '12-'13.

I agree. And everyone acts as though Fournette was completely shut down when in reality he had, what, 108 yards? Averaged like 4 yards a carry or something. Not bad.

Lack in trust of self, some call that confidence

while I agree BH hasn't played at the level I had hoped or thought he would there is a lot more to this than him being inaccurate...blocking, play calling, development. I still don't think our QB's are put in the best situation to excel...whether it be the play calling or how they are prepared or developed.

lets also remember he had been through 2-3 different schools and was much more mature than BH. Also that had our staff given any thought to the future met would have been being developed in 2011 when we were blowing everyone out...we knew he would be our QB in 2012 but still didn't use our opportunities to get him live game reps.

What other years? Jennings? Outside of 2014 Cam hasn't been awful. Even Mett in 2012 was a pretty decent year. I don't put the Jennings lack of development on Cam as much. Jennings wasn't even recruited by UGA, and he's a legacy. He is just not very good.

That's a fair assessment of the offense, OP. Although I do wonder how much of that improvement in the offense was due to having two all world WRs in 2013

Exactly, for the most part the fans set expectations that are too high for a sophomore qb in his first year as a starter. They look at other young qbs like Kyle Allen last year and believe that all young qbs will perform when asked to. I haven't really followed Allen this season but to me he also looks as if he regressed. Hell he lost his job for a while to a true freshman.

I don't know but it sucks because I bet there isn't a DB in college football who can bring him down by himself after a catch.

overthrown?
how about when he threw one in the dirt to a wide open tyron johnson on 3rd down? Les just sort of sighed, turned and walked away
fwiw, I believe Harris can get better, but that's on the coaches

I've made the argument on here before that Mett should have started his first year at LSU. It didn't go over well. But his JUCO stats alone warranted the discussion IMO.

I recall lots of bad passes. But he has overthrown guys who are wide open all month. All year, really.

Allen looks better than Harris but Allen is also asked to do way too much at TAMU. They have no option but to let him sling it 50 X a game.

When Fournette and Co. accounts for about 70%-80% of our total offense 108 yards is considered being shutdown. Our passing game is only effective if the running game is successful. The scheme we run is not designed for us to win by passing the ball.
Why do you think we still lost to Arkansas and Ole Miss when Harris threw for 274 and 324 yards respectfully?

Make all the excuses you want, but the fact is that we had five games where we got beat by 14 or more the past 2 years. 6 if you want to count the MSU game last year where it took a miracle comeback to get it to within 6 points. In all three of those games this year we were only down by a touchdown or fewer in the 3rd only to have the other team pull away. That shows a lack of adaptation and the stubbornness of hitting your head against the wall over and over. Harris might not be doing them any favors but 1) Harris was recruited by Miles and Cam and 2) Harris' development is a direct result of their coaching. This gets glossed over like there is no huge arse elephant in the room. At some point Miles will have to accept responsibility for underachieving with all of these top recruiting classes.

Yea, but Allen receivers had 0 drops that game. 0

It's also hard to come back from a significant deficit when the running game is your bread and butter. 14 points feels like 35.
