didn't Ford win the state 100 his senior year??
Ford ran the 100 meters in 10.5 seconds. Won regional but didn't compete in state meet due to hip flexor. Broke Cecil Collins rushing record at Leesville. Both were 5'10" and Wt. 205. Ford said he watched film on Collins at Leesville and LSU and said he thinks Collins ran harder at this point but he thinks he was a little faster than Collins.

Good info,I for one think he is the best we have on the roster and will be every bit as good as Joe Addai. Similar in skill set as well

Yea, I've heard that he was a little overrated coming out of school.

I figure Fords slightly weaker but slightly faster than TR. Both are physical specimens, though.

lb's are going to be hurting
Heard Minter is really coming along, but Baker has been disappointing.. (but hey it's spring)
By the way Ford benched 325 in HS only because his coaches wouldn't let him add more weight..dude is freakish strong, I'll ask around and see if I can come up with his numbers at LSU

I know it was reported he benched 185 lbs 28 times in high school.

Ford has pretty impressive measurables, its nice to see he's strong in the weight room too. Rb's are usually some powerful guys, a rb with a 320 clean and jerk comin from hs is impressive, and really correlates directly with an athletes explosiveness. Im interested to see Ford in action.

Give ALL the credit to Les Miles, a former OL

Richardson is the best most physically talented runner in the nation IMO. If he wasn't splitting wiht Ingram he would be super hyped. Dude is tremendously hard to tackle.
I will have to agree. It has been quite a while since I've seen a freshman SEC RB be that hard to tackle. What is also impressive is that while being hard to tackle, he seems to be hard to get a solid hit on. He uses his tree trunk legs well in making tacklers bounce off him. I can only hope Ford is as good as Richardson was last year.

Doesn't Michael have a pretty good high jump?

If Ingram wasn't at Bama last year, then Richardson wins the Heisman as a true freshman. Yes, he is THAT good.
It could be argued that he was better than Ingram last year.
Without Richardson, Bama doesn't ever get past AU.

since we dont know how his production willbe and we are just measuring strength and speed.........
trent runs a 4.5 ---ford runs a 4.49
ford benches 465--do u really think trent benches more?
then ford is faster and stronger by that--why does no one see this?
until we get to squats...........

and i benched 315 on the flat when i weighed 165. 365 on the decline--465 still is very impressive for his weight

Bama offensive line and OL coaching has a lot to do with that.
Compare and contrast Joe Pendry with Greg Studrawa.
Even with Ingram having the great year, their OC found a way to get some significant snaps for Richardson as a TRUE FRESHMAN, something GC couldn't do with either MF or RS. If Ford is obviously the best RB in practice, he should start and get the snaps in 2010.
I seem to remember Dalton Hilliard having a pretty good freshman year. I don't think Arnsparger gave a shite about seniority.......

the only time bench press strength is used by a RB is during a stiff arm. you can't possibly judge running strength by bench press numbers alone.

the fact that ford is being mentioned in the same sentence as cecil collins says a lot I remember watching cecil run the ball if ford is any thing like that we are in good shape

What 1000 yard returning rusher was ahead of Hilliard?
No sense in adding logic to a chance to bash someone, but I am curious?
