but its crazy to think the #1 dual threat QB couldnt go elsewhere and get a shot at QB. He wasnt rated as a WR, but as a QB.

When RS came to LSU, he suddenly lost all of his abilities at QB, amazing. Bottom line he was given a raw deal, probably given promises that weren't kept (we will give you a shot at QB), and then amazingly 'convinced' that he would make a good WR after his 2nd year in college (meanwhile, he had never played WR in his life, couldn't run a route, and didn't have good hands).

RS is another victim of Les Miles poor planning, foresight, and poor player development. Even if he did have some shortcomings at QB which is conceivable as a young player, why not get him some development from a quality coach, instead of the idiot Crowton who wouldn't even come down on the field to coach the players?

i could've sworn we just won the SEC and played in the NC.

the fact that LSU won as many games as they did with 2 very mediocre QBs is a testament to Miles and staff coaching ability
The argument is not what they accomplished, but what they didn't do with what they had. Why put yourself in that situation in the first place?

UT'tards have said we lied to him about being a QB. He probably would have gone there, but they weren't sold on him as a college QB. In hindsight, either rs him and transition him to a new position or he should have gone some where else with an offense more suited to his style as a QB(Oregon, WVU under RichRod)

Certainly contributed to the problems. Played LSU like a fiddle too. Enrolling was pure genius negotiation imo.

Les Miles is/was an offensive guard, number of recruited quarterbacks = 0.

Why did we just ride this lame fricking rollercoaster for 4 years?

Both JJ and JL were obviously not SEC caliber QB's (each had their moments, but the body of work of both players is subpar to put it mildly).

This 4 year saga was sort of a microcosm of Monday night's game, we didnt do or try anything to change it, we just rode it out hoping it would somehow correct itself.

I truly believe Lee would've developed into a solid game manager similar to Mauck if not a little better if we would've stayed with him over JJ back in 08.

I know Lee had too many picks (to put it mildly), but we also moved the ball and scored pretty damn well. (see UGA 08 and others)

The defense was so bad, this team gave up. If Miles would've had his head out his arse and hired a good DC, then the pressure would've been off the offense and I have no doubt Lee would've developed much better. The kid had an arm and threw a great deep ball. He was balling in the first 8 games of this year.

Only Les thought JJ was SEC material.

JLee was very sought after on the other hand.

Are you a politician? That's some of the best double-talk I've seen outside of Washington.

This is the reason i dont really believe in this star system....

A lot of times its no more than a glorified popularity contest......

OK, so there's no excuse, no reason, no possible set of circumstances or context for a 7-6 team losing to a 6-6 Sun Belt team. What do you think it means or proves?

No, its just not an exact science. That's why you recruit depth, because there are some players that won't pan out. The recruiting of QB's from 2006-2010 was bad, looks like they have fixed it.
