Jennings reminded me of Russell Wilson. A little on the smaller side, active feet, and a sneaky arm (based on that bomb he completed).

Granted, sample size is small.

I'm not bashing the kid, just saying he's farther from ready to play than y'all think.

Explain why Cam had him at #2?

No one is saying the kid is blowing the doors off, but Cam must be seeing more than you see.

All I can say is I'm happy. It's been a long time since our QB situation has looked this good.

Very valid comparison. Not as thick, but really good pocket presence, good arm strength, GREAT accuracy, and very quick/elusive but not fast fast.

I think Brees at Purdue is also fair. No, I'm not saying he will be near that good, but his style of play and skill set is very, very similar to those two guys.

I haven't been this excited about a QB at LSU in a while. You can tell Les loves the guy too.

Rettig will redshirt 100%. Rivers and Jennings will be 2A and 2B. Rivers would get the starting nod if Mett got hurt, but Jennings will have more PT in special packages as the 2nd string.

Rettig has the raw talent, but will benefit greatly from Cam and Krag working with him a couple years in the system.

Love having this problem.

Jennings will be good... but he won't play this year, he still has a ton to learn..

ETA - Rivers will never start a game at LSU. He only sees time in dyer straights.

Jennings is neither "small" nor has a "sneaky" arm...

100% plays this year IMO.

Special packages with him in there. We have our redshirt QB in Rettig. Get Jennings some valuable PT and I think he can help us win.

I honestly think he is our future and its going to be a very bright one barring injury.
