i wonder how many positigers there oculd be w/o miss st throwing on 3rd and goal from the 1/2 yard line, how many would stil be around had georgia not felt like celebrating. how about the arkansas game ? how would another 3 losses have fit the buyout scale ?
I wonder why you waste your time wondering bout things that didn't happen.
Each to our own, but I will enjoy the wins and let others play the what if game.
You sound like you were disappointed we won those games.

I saw some good things out of the D in 2009. They were probably the only reason we didn't finish 7-5 or worse. That said, when comparing 2010 to 2009, DL and DBs should be better and LBs should be worse. But Francois and Baker are decent players, so after the first few games, they should be solid, though not as good as Coleman and Riley.

2.) all opposing teams have to do it get through the first half in the game and Tiger Stadium will start to empty. DOnt believe go watch the ARkansas ame from last year.
This is too true. Most times they don't even need to get through the first half. Unless it's Alabama or Florida, fans are just bodies in the water and if they get up on the team early, you could hear a pin drop in the stadium.

3.)Saturday night win streak, ended. OOC win streak, ended. win streak vs top 10 teams, ended.
annual first-round draft streak...

4.)Alabama emerged in the west and started kicking butt and we stopped. If we had both kept winning we would have shared the lime light with them, but they took it and earned it all for themselves.
While not debating that Alabama has improved significantly, we've gone toe-to-toe with them every year. And I have said this and will continue to say it. Saban really did come into Alabama at exactly the right time. LSU on the downturn, Auburn on the downturn, Tennessee on the downturn, Florida not a regular opponent...

5.)Saturday night in Tiger STadium is now a rare and uncommon thing unless we r playing Ulala.
Truth.
It absolutely kills the atmosphere and the Tiger Stadium mystique. I don't know why networks make us play in the afternoon slot when the games are clearly more entertaining at night... larger TV audience and shite I guess, but the game is 100x more exciting if they don't do that shite.

I agree its showing signs of coming back but its no where near where it was is what I was mainly saying.

of course we have, but the difference is what we do against common opponents. Alabama killed Arkansas, we skated by them in OT. Bama killed Ole Miss, when we crapped out. Bama blasted Moo St, we got a heart filled and maybe a little bit of luck in a goal line stand. I agree weve gone toe to toe with them, but we could beat them every year and still lose to these other teams they handle with ease, and they still are top dogs and look better in pollsters eyes.

I think Bama got a wee bit of help though. Look at the teams you mentioned and consider who got hot at the end of the year and who fizzled out, and compare when we played them.
Auburn - started hot, fizzled out (LSU - Wk 8; ALA - Wk 13)
Miss St - started hot, fizzled out (LSU - Wk 4; ALA - Wk 11)
Ole Miss - was painfully average all year
Ark - started cold, got hot (ALA - Wk 4; LSU - Wk 13)
Not saying it's an excuse, but it's a variable. Mention Florida to make your point. They were pretty weak to start the year and strong in the end.

true, and auburn was our only common opponent that suggest the oppoosite of what im saying.

Even before the season started, you expect to be miserable. You don't have to be classified as 'negatiger'. You are doing enough damage to yourself.
With all the changes that happened in the league, if you still expect the team to perform worse than last year, you certainly have no faith in the team's management.
That said, you should expect to have a great fall. The team may do better than you expect. How can you be mad when the team does no worse than you expect. Enjoy. If you still come here wringing you hands after poor performance expected by you, you can then classify yourself - a negatiger.

I hope my feelings do not classify me as a Negatiger.
Sorry but when you say:

I think something more embarrasing than the Ole Miss clock situation is on the horizon for 2010.
then you have a negative outlook on LSU football, and thus you are a "negative Tiger fan" or simply a "negaTiger."
My condolences.

I like Les Miles and think we're gonna have a good year and am hopeful it will be a great year. But before you call me a "head-in-the-sand-" sunshine-pumping, Les-loving, posi-tiger, let me first address a few things. First, zero people are predicting us to win the NC. There are a few very hopeful ones who think we might compete for it, but no one is predicting it. No one. Also, no one thinks Les Miles is perfect. No one. Nada. Zero people. Zilch. No one thinks there are not things within the team and program that need to be improved or corrected. Again, zero. No one. And very few(if any) even think Les Miles is a better football coach than Nick Saban. So you can waste your breaths and accuse us of things we don't believe, and call us these mythical things that don't exist, andd build up this ridiculously tall straw man and pat yourselves on the back when you "tear them down." Knock yourselves out.
And I won't even respond to some of the retardedly stupid posts that have replied to the original post. I want to address how motherfricking stupid that original post is. Besides the fact that just about all of our SEC games last year were nationally televised, that we got invited--not automatically qualified for, but INVITED--to the most prestigious non-BCS bowl in the nation last year, that our spring game was one of only about 3-4 that were nationally televised by ESPN just a month ago, that we were invited to open up the season on national t.v. this year, that we will have 3 out-of-conference games nationally televised, along with likely 7 of our 8 SEC games, etc...Besides all that that proves you are just butt-frick stupid. I am calling you out straight up for not just having the balls to start what this thread really is--another stupid fricking "I hate Miles" thread in a long list of stupid fricking "I hate Miles" threads. At least have the sack to man up and say what you really want to say instead of hiding behind this retardedly thinly veiled(and logically unsound) topic like a fricking count.

I was sitting my some GA fans at the game the other night. I had an LSU shirt on. One guy said he hated Les Miles. Said Miles has become the new Spurrier, i.e., the coach everyone else hates. I suppose that could be construed as a good thing, but I found it a little odd. I kinda figured opposing fans would have been quite neutral to Miles.

It's true though. If Les had been holding RP's hand 24/7 like he should have RP would have never got into a fight at the Varsity. RP would NEVER had even considered taking drugs.
Stupid Les thinks 18-21 year olds are their own individuals. Horse patooey if you ask me.
ETA: And I'd still like to know how LSU football could be considered an after thought? It's one of the most ridiculous thoughts/ questions posed to the board in a while.

Exactly. MILES is responsible for T-Bob getting drunk and slamming into a parked car! How dare he leave the campus to go on the recruiting trail! He has responsibilities to the players on the team to keep them in line!

I'm thinking it's time Les manned-up and started putting radio transmitters under the players' skin.
I hear that's what Meyers and Saban do. Don't quote me on that though.

someone mentioned no significant discipline problems outside of RP.
There have actually been quite a few, although on the field discipline is just as concerning if not moreso.
These come to mind...
TE Anderson- fighting
DB Giddens- breaking Barksdales jaw
WR Toliver- fighting at Freds
C Hebert- DWI
Just a few i can recall and this does not include other players and problems with illegal substance use etc. All in all pretty typical for a college program.
More critical are on the field issues (Tyson Jackson going ape shite bananas at UK, Alem kicking ball at Arky, numerous, numerous off sides, false starts, in neutral zone flags) that directly and indirectly led to losses.
Miles is too soft on these issues IMO. Players don't seem to respect him enough and there haven't been harsh enough consequences for lack of discipline.

Don't forget Odom. He was caught fighting. He was kicked off after a couple of indiscretions.
As far as Toliver...I thought he wasn't charged with anything.
Anyway, winning makes everyone forget about discipline problems. Look at Florida. They have had serious issues on and off the field.
I think discipline is something people complain about when they don't know what to complain about.

As if you would know.
Kicking our starting QB off the team is soft to you?
Do you even think b 4 you type or just throw crap out?

First of all you guys are idiots for thinking I am pulling these emotions out of my arse. I live right here in a hot bed of college football in Atlanta. There are fans of every SEC school and I am also a member of the media. Believe me when I say LSU is not a respected as years past. Everyone knows that an environment and reputation of dominance starts at the top. Mediocrity has set into LSU and also crept into fans psyche. I used to cringe when I heard people say Miles was another Larry Coker. Now I know exactly what they mean. It started to play itself out a coule of years back. We have become an afterthought when it comes to national reputation of hard-nosed football and imposing homefield presence. I didn't just make all this stuff up. There is proof. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.
