I missed the first part of the game. Stats?

His first pitch was 98mph.

He touched 98. Mainly settled in around 94-96. Off speed was hit or miss. He looked like an ace, throwing in his first game of the season.

His changeup surprised me. He's going to be playing this game for a long time.

When he was locating his pitches, he was unhittable.

He looked fine. Like most teams will, Air Force guessed right on some fastballs. Changeup looked better than last year. Slider was erratic, but will be fine.
If he locates his fastball and throws the slider and changeup for strikes, his ERA will be 2 or under. Teams will hit him if he leaves pitches over the plate, simply because they guess right.

Well said. Fastballs hit were up in zone over heart of plate. Last year when he was terrorizing teams he pitched down. And at 98 down in the zone good luck. Change up should be illegal for him to throw considering his power arm. If slider becomes consistent let’s geaux to Omaha.

The best part about his changeup is not even the change of speeds but that it wiggles. Hitters can keep their hands back when they recognize it but that wiggle is filthy. Same can be said for his slider - you can recognize it but actually deciding if it's a hittable pitch is really tough. Teams are really just going to have to guess on the fastball. And, I'm fine with that as long as he locates the fastball.
