How did Georgia defend Hurts in 2017?

Just wondering if there was some knowledge to be gained from watching the 2017 Natty.

Hurts was largely ineffective both through the air and on the ground.

Was it a square peg round hole type deal with Bama's offense that year or did UGA's defensive scheme cause the poor play?

We should probably look at who slowed them down the most this season in the offense he plays in to look for ideas

He is a different player in a different scheme now

They covered his receivers unlike what Big 12 "Defenses" do.

Jalen hurts sucked in 2017. He was not all that good. U did watch hurts the past few years didn't you? He was shite for a QB, just his offensive line was good in blocking his first two years. Jalen hurts did well his Junior year at bama, really improved. He is a better QB at Oklahoma than he ever was at bama. Get in the guys head possibly, make that guy work.

Going to have to spy Hurts and pressure him to try and beat us with his legs.

He's damn good, and we all know it, but he's not perfect and his game is different at OU than it was in Tuscaloosa.

OU has a good TE (icr name) that is a sure chains/possession guy that's a legit check down threat for Hurts, and of course Cedee is always roaming out there ready to house one.

Keep Hurts moving and he becomes mistake prone. He's made some incredible plays on the move, but even more mistakes. Reward > Risk.

Made him pass.

Strangely, he improved as a passer after he lost the job. Funny how that works.
