You're damned right! The agent activities are way overboard. They are ultimately "recruiting" college players based on the player's draft potential. A high profile/potential 1st rounder doesn't stand a chance when these agents dangle "gifts" of parties/women/cash in front of their face. And, most of these players have been in the spotlight for years while they were standouts at their HS's and during their college recruitment/signing days. They are gullible and most of all stupid kids that the agents prey on.

could be one more high profile player in an SEC school whose name comes up. Nothing substantive to name a name at this point though.

Are you talking about Julio Jones? Heard he was as the same party as Austin from a U fan/alum

Well I would think Peterson would not be a guy to get involved with this as I have heard he is all business for his career. That is at least what I have been told from a former player.

This... Plus I think it helps PP that he has fam in the NFL..

FL has an agent law as well... I think Tank Black got like 15 years from messing w/ those "Gaytor" guys years ago

I don't think its anything to worry about at this point. At least I hope.

I'm really interested to see how this plays out at UNC. Will they play their questionable guys the first game and later take a risk of forfeiting games if they're found guilty? Or do they just suspend them until this blows over?

I'm going to go with they're going to take the risk and do whatever it takes to win.

Marcel Darius has been ruled ineligible by the NCAA and Bama has appealed for reinstatement. The longer the other players wait to petition for reinstatement, the further this drags for other schools (if applicable).

Should LSU get this in the open and get the appeal for reinstatement turned in?

What reinstatement? Is there an LSU player that the NCAA has ruled ineligible?

I'm just saying that if there is, we need it out and get on with it. I don't like this waiting game.

ESPN has a list of players from the other schools. They are trying to leak it out like the steroid list.

Incorrect. The NCAA has not spoken with Dareus yet. Bama ruled him ineligible and has petitioned the NCAA to rule him eligible. They did this same thing last yr with the Ingram/Julio fishing incident.

Scratch that, now reports are coming out that Saban said he hasn't been ruled ineligible at this time and any reports to that are incorrect.

There are rumors around SEC media days that another SEC school will have a player named very soon and that as many as 40 players were there. One of the radio guys in Birmingham said "If this rumor is true, this will be the biggest loss yet because the player is not replaceable and the school opens with a tough opponent." I hope he is not talking about PP but he fits the bill of the obscure rumor. I would think if PP was involved his trip to SEC media days would be cancelled to keep the press away from him. If PP is at SEC media days, I would think we are in the clear.

The problem is that is nearly impossible for schools to control this. This isn't a recruiting violation where an employee of the school is breaking rules. You can tell kids not to speak with agents until you're blue in the face, but at the end of the day, you can't babysit them 24/7.
I heard NO ONE say that in USC's debacle.

We are the only SEC team with a tough opener...
Hopefully it's just gump media trying to deflect their player being involved.
