Dude has had a pretty incredible career at freaking Dallas Baptist. 7 straight 40 win seasons. 14 seasons as HC, with 10 NCAA appearances. Again, he’s done this at DBU. Seems like he deserves a look.

He has been mentioned several times as a good candidate. Amazing how he has built a consistent top 20 program at a place like that.

DBU has won a bunch under Heefner. This ain’t about today. Tell me why he’s not a good candidate?

I think Heefner is a guy that is atop the second tier list if McDonnell, Vitello, Godwin, and I guess Bianco all fall through.

Good. I must’ve missed it, because I haven’t seen his name on here. He’s 43 years old. He’s got tons of experience, and he’s coached a consistent winner at a no name school. Imagine what he might do with LSU’s name and resources.

The word is hes extremely happy where he is with his family situation. Everyone is happy.

ETA: I’m guessing it will be Saarloos or perhaps Heefner for TCU

He’s been mentioned several times. He IS a good candidate. But the overall consensus is that he doesn’t want to leave DB. I saw make an offer and make him turn it down.

Some have claimed he really wants to be at a Christian school and, if anything, it could be TCU that gets him to leave DBU.

Not sure how true that is though.

We just happened to start the first thread about him while his team is winning on ESPN.

Sure he’s happy. It’s a comfortable place to coach. No real pressure. He could probably coach there until he’s ready to hang it up based on what he’s already accomplished.

But it’s unlikely that he’ll win a NC at DBU. LSU gives someone like him a chance to win titles and have a national legacy. It also gives him big time money, which always helps with the wife.

Heefer turned down Baylor in 2015.

But we know Baylor isn't LSU, and there are limits to how much DBU will be able to pay him if another Power 5 comes along.

You think we should start threads about coaches who are getting their asses kicked?

Ironically, LSU would probably hire UVA's O'Connor over Heefner.
